Model Idol Combi: there's always that first date

[ Makoto had heard it on the highest authority (Miki) that girls should always be fashionably late to their dates. It left the guy 'frothing with desire', or something like that. And she'd dwelt on it, she really had, even as she sifted through her closet for the sixth time.

Makoto has always been Makoto, though, and that meant she didn't feel right purposely taking her time. It's why she's waiting near the entrance-- has been waiting for ten minutes with the long black skirt and the white shirt with the artfully placed frills and the red heels that click so cutely when she walks. It's a far cry from the jeans and sweatshirts she usually runs around in.

But she'd like to think it's not bad. ]

It's just that Makoto is even earlier, and he had trouble recognizing her since that outfit is. Different.

[Walking up to her in all his 189cm glory, disguised in a hat and sunglasses. No one could possibly recognize him right.]

[ not Makoto, anyway-- or, at least, not immediately, but how many 189cm guys does she know who call her by that nickname? And if you look hard enough, you can see his fringe peeking out from the brim and... oh, right, he's talking. ]

Ki-- aaah-- Ryota-kun! Um, I know it's a little weird, but I thought it might... work for today...

[ she's trying not to look down. ]

[Right, he'd ask her to call him that. How could he have forgotten? He smiles for her, trying to dispel the awkwardness.]

It's not weird, it's exactly what I was looking forward to! It's cute!

[Really. Now that he's looking at it more carefully, it's honestly not bad. He could get used to it.]

Cute? [ she looks down at herself, then up at him, hope lighting up her face. ] Really?

[Moving forward with a light bounce in his step, he gestures grandly toward the entrance.]

Then shall we get going, Cute Date-chan? There's plenty to do today!

Right! [ oh look, she's equally bouncy, springing after him energetically. ] The only problem's figuring what to do first!

Hmm, I thought I'd leave that up to you. What did you want to do first?

[Yes, this date has officially started.]

... The water ride, maybe? It's good to dry off while the sun's still out.

Eh? The water ride? [Well that wasn't expected. Most girls wouldn't want to get wet when they're on a date and in a nice new outfit.

Then again, Makoto wasn't most girls was she.]

Sure, that makes sense, let's go!

[ he's caught on, which will serve him well in the days (or moments, really) to come. In Makoto's mind, it's important to have fun on a date, and her clothes aren't anything that will get ruined by a little water. If she's too dainty or reserved about this, the only safe thing will be the carousel, and that's only one part of it.

She grins now, hiding the fact that she has no idea whether it's okay to take his hand or not, or if he'd rather keep his hands free, or if she should just take his wrist to guide him-- ]

Have you been to this one before?

I came here before for my job, but I didn't get to ride anything. Ah, but don't worry I made sure it's a good place! It's important to scout out your date location, don't you think?

[He keeps his hands by his side for now. Or they would be if they weren't constantly fluttering up and down while he's talking, adding in gestures here and there. Evidently, he's not too worried about holding hands; it'll happen naturally when it does, so there's no use rushing into it.]

Right... I'll remember that. [ because this is still new. Sure, Makoto had checked out shooting locations before, or concert venues well before she'd even taken to the stage, but that was different, wasn't it?

She puffs out a little determined sigh, one barely audible, before she turns her attention to the map she'd been handed upon entry. So the water ride should be... ]

This way! [ aaaaand she's off. It's almost impressive that she can move so quickly in heels, but she really does like the sound they make and the way her skirt swishes around her ankles. ]

--Huh?! Makocchi, wait up!

[Wow, she's fast. He's actually impressed; he'd only seen her in running shoes or sneakers so he'd never imagined she'd be able to walk that well in heels. Though if he thinks about it, there was that one time Momocchi showed up looking like a famous actress and that had been when he was still in middle school...

... Girls are mysterious creatures, aren't they. Mysterious creatures in long skirts that move nicely as they walk. That outfit really isn't too bad.]

[ she may dress casually during her non-idol walks among the public eye, but one of the very first things you had to learn as an idol was how to dance in heels. She does a lot better in them than a lot of people would suspect, proven when she pivots to face him with a playful wave. ]

If I go too slow, the line will get even longer! Come on, Ryota-kun!

Aaah wait wait, he's getting distracted and they've only been on a date for what, five minutes?]

Sorry sorry, that'd be bad.

[Catching up to her in a few long strides, he takes her hand into his as easy as breathing, continuing in the direction she was heading.] But let's not get separated either.

[ ... oh. How does he do that? Makoto's just trying not to blush (unsuccessfully) or stare at their hands (unsuccessfully) and keep up (successfully, but she has to hustle a little to match his stride). His hand is warm and dry and large and--

Okay, yes, to the ride!! ]

This is the easiest problem-solver!

[He looks down, about to answer, but then he notices how she's staring at their hands while blushing as she tries to keep up that enthusiasm.

Maybe he pulled that too soon? But then they're already in line and he can't exactly let go of her hand, apologizing that he might've gotten the timing wrong, can he try that again? That would be so lame. 'Sides, she doesn't look unhappy.]

It is, because you were really going for it! Do you like this ride, Makocchi?

[jitensha]

It's not my favorite... [ she answers easily enough, and her fingers finally move from their shocked state of limp to slide against his. ] But I do really like it! The fast ones get your heart pumping-- it's exciting!

[There we go. He was going to ask her if something was wrong if that kept up. Since there's no need now, he makes sure the conversation doesn't flop instead.]

I think so too, they're the best ones! Then we should go on the roller coaster later, or the drop tower?

Both of them! But the roller coaster should definitely be first!!

You don't scare easily huh. Ah, but we should check out some of the game stands too, they're always fun.

[With his free hand he reaches for the map Makoto's holding. Sort of. Actually he holds her wrist instead so that she can still hold the map for him. Sure he has to bend down a bit to do this, but she already has hers out so why not?]

[ things like heights and speed don't scare her, no. She'll get all sorts of freaked if they hit up the haunted house, though.

But for now, she's fine holding the map like this, blinking up at him before she drops her eyes back to the paper. ]

There's a couple right by the food... maybe after lunch?

[Having no idea, Kise's bound to drag them to the haunted house. Yepp.]

If that's what you want. [A ~dazzling~ smile, before turning his attention back to the map.] Ooh, lucky, there's a pirate ship close by too!
