Model Idol Combi: there's always that first date

[ Makoto had heard it on the highest authority (Miki) that girls should always be fashionably late to their dates. It left the guy 'frothing with desire', or something like that. And she'd dwelt on it, she really had, even as she sifted through her closet for the sixth time.

Makoto has always been Makoto, though, and that meant she didn't feel right purposely taking her time. It's why she's waiting near the entrance-- has been waiting for ten minutes with the long black skirt and the white shirt with the artfully placed frills and the red heels that click so cutely when she walks. It's a far cry from the jeans and sweatshirts she usually runs around in.

But she'd like to think it's not bad. ]

[ ugh Kise stop that's embarrassing!! And isn't that as good as saying "by the way, we're going to end up kissing today"?? He's a lot calmer about this than she is, but then again, he's had tons more experience.

She sucks in a deep, calming breath, and finally lowers the cotton candy to acceptable non-stare-attracting levels.

Ignore that she's still sort of pink. ]

I think you should pick the next ride-- it's more fun if we take turns, right?

[Asking him to stop making things embarrassing is like asking him to stop being himself. Also despite how he sounds, it's less that he's a casanova and more that he's utterly shameless.

But wow yes good on her for lowering that cotton candy because that's really cute. Really cute. Really-- okay he should pay attention.]

[ wow, for like a grand total of seven seconds, Makoto goes from pink to sheet-white. What are the odds?! ]

[ NO MAKOTO PUT UP WITH IT. THIS IS WHAT COUPLES DO. ]

O-okay! But we don't really have to take our time, I'm sure it's not that big--

No no, see? It even has a second floor!

[Kise can't you see that she's totally pale-- Oh no, he can't because he's too busy leading her to the entrance, trying to look inside to see what's in there.]

Looks like they went all out with it, it should be interesting.

Two floors-- t-they really didn't hold back...

[ NO NOT REALLY but after saying something like that, who could be cruel enough to admit the truth to someone clearly so excited? ]

Ah, no, I'll go in! Someone should be there to protect you!

But if you're okay with it. [He gives her hand a squeeze.] You can always hide behind me if you get scared!

Well, I figure I could put the karate to good use if I had to...

[ yes, but who's the blackbelt here? Even with this knowledge, she's quick to return that squeeze with a laugh that could ALMOST be called scared as hell nervous. ]

But don't worry! I won't get scared.

[Ah, Famous Last Words indeed. He honestly thinks she couldn't be that scared of this; he hadn't seen a girl getting so gung ho about big drops or fast turns before. Startled maybe, but terrified? Nah.

But now that they're at the front of the line, prove how wrong he is, Makoto.]

[ oh, she will. She at least does fairly well when they enter, the only truly noticeable sign being that her grip on his hand has tightened and she's trying not to bite her lip or shrink behind him. ]

[There's no way she's that scared right? It's not anything new for someone to be more wary when they first enter. Even he's scanning around the corners, wondering if something will pop out.

Of course, he's looking around with anticipation.]

It's probably too soon for someone to come out huh. Let's go upstairs first, maybe they have some kind of game in here.

[ she nods, apparently too on edge to vocally respond. That is, until they hit the stairs and instead of creaking, they scream.

Hopefully they drown out that choked whimper she just made. ]

[Meanwhile in Shalalala Sparkle Land...

Kise please, you're good at reading body language clue yourself in a little more.

Except he doesn't, more excited at the prospect of having things pop out at him if he continues heading up. He almost bounces up the stairs, ignoring the ones that scream when he steps on them.]

[ HOW IS HE SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS it would be cute if it wasn't inside a haunted house. Still, if he goes this pace, maybe they'll speed through it and get out of here in no time.

She's got this. ]

[Once up, it seems like he'll breeze through the halls...

... Save it's never that easy, as he just has to stop in front of the broken mirror.]

Oh, is this the one where something--

[Yes, yes it is, as the mirror chooses that moment to shriek while flashing bright lights. Did I mention you can see a murderous ghost on the other side?

So Makoto, are you sure you have this.]

[jitensha]

[ oh, sure. She's got this.

If by 'this' you mean 'shrieking in perfect unison with the mirror and almost tripping over her own feet in her rush to duck behind Kise'. ]

[... Yeah she's not just scared she's the very definition of terrified. Which means he's made a big mistake oops.]

Ah, are you okay? It's just a doll--

[At which point everything that seemed to avoid them on the first floor seems to come out. So if she looks up, she'll notice a skeleton hanging upside down between them.]

[ Makoto might have made a grievous mistake in letting go of Kise's hand and bolting, but to be fair, having scary things pop out at you is never fun (unless you're Kise). The problem then becomes not becoming an incoherent teary mess somewhere further down the line, because there are women with heads under their arms and guys with arrows in their chests and bloodied ghosts--

Yeah, she'll hit a corner eventually. ]

[Oh god no why why is she running away from him?!

The skeleton surprised him too, meaning he didn't get to react right away when she let go before proceeding to bolt down the hallway full of more scary things but why is she running away?!

So yeah, at this point he is actually scared. Of losing her in the house that is.

He'll be chasing after her, of course, but damn she's fast in those heels and no stop popping up in front of him scary things that aren't that scary it's not the time for this he needs to catch up why is his life so hard???]

[ never fear, Kise! Makoto may be incredibly fast, and even faster fueled on fear, but he'll find her sooner or later, because her legs will have given up on her.

Meaning if he doesn't run right past the shivering ball of misery with her hands clapped over her ears and her eyes squeezed tightly shut, something may have finally gone right in this house. ]

After passing by her a few times. Look she's really small when she's curled up like that and it's dark in here. Also he was in a hurry.

So that ridiculous 'Makocchiiiii where are youuuu' stops soon enough. Soon enough as in he's gone through the entire floor almost three times, and some of the sympathetic actors point her out to him.]

Makocchi, there you are! [Rushing over he knees down, tentatively placing a hand on her back.] I was calling everywhere for you, are you okay?

[jitensha]

[ no, since she flinches with the world's most pathetic whimpering noise until she opens her eyes and lowers her hands and-- ]

R-Ryota-kuuuun...

[ IS KIND OF TEARY, YEAH. ]

[... NO. NO WHY. She's crying this is the worst!! He made her cry on their first date what kind of person does that?! Why didn't he realize how scared she was sooner?! WHY DID SHE SAY LET'S GO IN???]

I'm really sorry! Um-- [Damn it he doesn't have a handkerchief.] Let's get out of here okay?
