Model Idol Combi: there's always that first date

[ Makoto had heard it on the highest authority (Miki) that girls should always be fashionably late to their dates. It left the guy 'frothing with desire', or something like that. And she'd dwelt on it, she really had, even as she sifted through her closet for the sixth time.

Makoto has always been Makoto, though, and that meant she didn't feel right purposely taking her time. It's why she's waiting near the entrance-- has been waiting for ten minutes with the long black skirt and the white shirt with the artfully placed frills and the red heels that click so cutely when she walks. It's a far cry from the jeans and sweatshirts she usually runs around in.

But she'd like to think it's not bad. ]

[ surely some of the vendors and park-goers have got to be wondering what on earth is going on with the short-haired girl in the long skirt and the tall attractive guy with the hat and sunglasses, but at least no one's interrupting.

Which is just as well, because as much as Makoto can be sincere, she's just as honest with her reactions, and Kise holding her hand in a more intimate grip than the usual so far isn't curbing the flush of her cheeks. ]

I wouldn't be a proper princess, anyway. You don't have to try to get me to like you.

[ and then she laughs and wraps her fingers around his. ]

[Obviously they're just reenacting a scene from Makoto's favourite shoujo. Either way, Kise's not paying much attention to any of the passersby. It's a mixture of habituation and preoccupation, you see; preoccupation with how her small hand fits into his, and habituation from all those years in the spotlight.]

Now now, don't say that. Every girl's a princess.

[He winks.]

Though I know that you like me a lot. Anyway, all the games right? Let's tackle them before getting something to eat.

[ of course he'd know, she thinks, with no small bit of amusement. He was probably used to people liking him, and Makoto had always been bad at veiling her feelings. But she brightens and turns her attention to the next game, one of the ones where you have to 'shoot the demon'. ]

[ yeah, she's gonna make this into a very quick sweep. ]

Meanwhile Kise will insist on paying for whatever she wants to try, so Makoto might be the one paying for the food later.]

[ which is fine; she's made a killing in game prizes, varying from little notepads to stuffed animals and phone straps and-- yeah the poor vendors are just happy to see her trot back to Kise with an armful of stuff. ]

I think we can go now!

[ someone has a scary sense of aim. ]

[No kidding, holy shit she could have gotten that bear by herself.]

It's my first time having a guy win something for me, though! The meaning's completely different!

But... [He looks at his wallet. Nnngh...] I can't let this go just like that.

[Which is why he points with conviction at the next game stand.]

This is the last one! I'll get you an even bigger bear this time!

[Kise pls, this isn't a competition.]

[ ... that bear is almost as big as she is, Kise. And she has a few things she'd like to say about this, but she sighs after a minute and smiles instead. ]

[So the bear may be a tad too big to be cute, but it's just as fluffy and cuddly. Giving her a winning smile, he's all set to take this in one shot.]

[ she knows him too well to doubt his prowess now, so she takes a step back to give him space. Truth be told, she never really tires of seeing Kise in action, anyway. ]

It probably wouldn't come as much as a surprise then that he doesn't have much trouble with this. He's not as focused as before but apparently his near childish competitive spirit made up for it.

He takes the bear with a big whoop after he's done, giving that poor vendor a big thanks in return.]

So the first one was your cuddly side, and this one's for your height?

[ thankfully she'd won a bag to stuff her prizes in, the first bear peeking out of the top, since when she accepts this one, she practically disappears behind it. ]

Ah, that's one way to look at it! And when they fuse together, they make me!

[Kise what are you even talking about.

But the way she disappears behind Ryota #2 is not only cute but a safety hazard. He stands behind her as she gathers the bear up so that he can lead her by her shoulders.]

That'd be too big a bear for me to handle...

[ and that's muffled, but strangely intrigued as she tries to lower the bear's head enough to see over the ears. ]

Ah, but are you ready to eat now?

[He's about to protest, but that question reminds him that he's gotten pretty hungry...]

Yep! But we can go see something else if you're not. Maybe a show?

It's okay! It's a good opportunity to get our energy back up!

That's true, then, to the food~!

[All aboard the Kise Express I guess. Enjoy your complimentary loud and annoying.]

[ it's all good in her book. And yes, she'll treat to dinner/food/whatever this is. It's the least she can do after she broke his wallet. ]

[To be fair, it's only because he wasn't expecting her to go after all the games. He did bring a decent amount, just not enough to accommodate for all that. And man, she really did go after everything...

That's not what he's thinking about now though, chatting cheerfully with her (of course not while he's chewing).]

[ always such impeccable table manners. Makoto's keeping up the conversation just as energetically, and she has to admit, for taking a break, there's no sense of restlessness about it. It's just nice.

Which is why she eventually lifts her eyes up with some regret. ]
