Model Idol Combi: there's always that first date

[ Makoto had heard it on the highest authority (Miki) that girls should always be fashionably late to their dates. It left the guy 'frothing with desire', or something like that. And she'd dwelt on it, she really had, even as she sifted through her closet for the sixth time.

Makoto has always been Makoto, though, and that meant she didn't feel right purposely taking her time. It's why she's waiting near the entrance-- has been waiting for ten minutes with the long black skirt and the white shirt with the artfully placed frills and the red heels that click so cutely when she walks. It's a far cry from the jeans and sweatshirts she usually runs around in.

But she'd like to think it's not bad. ]

B-because... it's mainly for couples and... [ she trails off, shamefaced. ,]

[ SHE'S SORRY SHE HASN'T HAD A NORMAL DATING EXPERIENCE. ]

[Hey hey hey, it's ferris wheel time. And it's looking quite spectacular with the sun down, to be honest.]

[ Makoto goes silent when she looks up, though not without a little gasp of awe first. She'd always thought ferris wheels were impressive, and yes, she'd gone through every amusement park date that her manga volumes could offer, and they always made a point of this ride being the most romantic.

That aside, it's just beautiful. ]

[Kise is already looking at the line however, mumbling something about a lot of couples having the same idea.]

I guess we should hurry, but then the view isn't going anywhere--

[Which is when he notices her gaping at the ferris wheel. And so he nudges her a little.]

Not bad for a first time, right?

[jitensha]

[ she jumps a little, before she gives him a little smile and nods. ]

I can still admire it in line!

[Which is just fine! He nods, happily taking her along. Look at him all excited while lining up.]

[ she's not much better. Obviously, Kise's done this before, although she'd rather not think about how many times he's done it with other girlfriends, but it's nice to see that he's just as enthusiastic about it as she is.

... And boy, is she. She's pretty much a wriggly puppy. ]

[Yes let's not think about that--

But wriggly puppy meet another wriggly puppy, because once it's their turn Kise practically jumps into the car.

Obviously this energy will not die down until they get off, or maybe not even then.]

[ Makoto manages to maintain a grip on her jubilation-- until they're high enough to see over the park, and then she's got her fingers pressed to the glass and her eyes fastened on the view. ]

Ryota-kun!! You can't look away, you'll miss it!

I know I know, I wouldn't miss it!

[And instead of going for the next window over like a sensible, not touch-friendly person, he settles for looking out the same window. It's easy since he's huge and she's not, so all he needs to do is look over her head.]

[jitensha]

[ she doesn't mind, trying her best not to breathe on the glass so she doesn't end up fogging it and obscuring the view. ]

It's so beautiful...

So this was a success, right?

[Though he doesn't turn his gaze away from the scene below as he asks, busy taking in all the lights and even more stretching out beyond them. Yes he dragged her here because this is one of the romantic hot spots for couples, but he honestly just likes the view too.]

[jitensha]

[ she makes a questioning sound, soft and quizzical. Her eyes remain focused on the lights dancing together below her and her fingers gently tap the glass in a rhythm she's unaware of. ]

There's no way it would have failed. You weren't worried about this part at all, were you?

[Ahaha...]

You caught me. I wasn't worried about this part.

[This might be bold of him, but this is also the same guy who pulled her into a hug while they were not dating; excuse him while he rests his head on hers, his arms coming around over her shoulders so that he can lean in properly.]

But I'm still glad you like it just as much as I do!

[jitensha]

[ Makoto blinks, but this time, she doesn't yip or flail about in shock-- which is good, because at this proximity, she'd definitely whack her forehead on the glass. Sure, her heartbeat just accelerated, but even with it knocking against her chest, she relaxes against him and brings her hands up to cover his. ]

I love it! Thank you for bringing me.

[And this, he thinks, would be when he coolly leans down to give her a kiss. From the left or the right? Aaah, he can't decide.

Though, is it okay if he kisses her? This date didn't start off well, but it sure feels like everything is going perfectly right now. But what if she's still unsure about the haunted house? She'd walked out of there crying because he hadn't noticed. It'd be terrible if he got shoved out off the ferris wheel because he timed this wrong.

So yeah, hello there awkward silence.]

[ Makoto's well acquainted with the tangible, stiff silence that accompanies discomfort-- mostly because she's the one who usually has to break it, when it's not Haruka taking the initiative.

It's difficult to tilt her head back when he's got his chin on her crown, but she tries (carefully) anyway. ]

Ryota-kun?

[It's now or never, right? IT'S NOW OR NEVER--

And god he can't do it. Why can't he do it, this is easy! She even tilted her head back for him so all he needs to do is force himself! He's never had a problem with things like that.

But lifting his head from hers, he goes for a kiss on the forehead instead.

Instantly feeling regret afterwards.]

Just enjoying the view!

[ ... well, he did say there was a kiss at the end of it, but she hadn't expected the forehead-- not that she minded! But something struck a wrong chord, and she's not sure if that's because it will be ending, soon, or if his answer rings hollow.

But if it is ending, what does she say? A casual thanks? A request to do this again sometime? ]

U-um, about today--

[ ... or she could be Makoto. ]

Thank you for taking care of me! Even when I messed up, you didn't give up on me and I'm glad I could stay with you for this!

Uh, you don't need to thank me for that. This was a date you know, I can't just leave you hanging... Actually that makes it sound like this was a business meeting...

A-Anyway, as long as you had a good time! It's okay if I ask for a second date, right?

[ there's just something so uplifting about the words 'second date', even though they're already dating. But this could be considered a trial run, and Kise had kept up with her the whole time, and not balked in disgust when she'd messed up the whole haunted house experience for him.

It's why she moves her hands enough to turn herself in the circle of his arms in order to face him properly.

She should probably stop smiling so widely, it's beginning to hurt. ]
