Leif Helgarson (because nothing about this could possibly go wrong, of course not)
nope! nothing at all!
When he steps outside, he pauses to check his phone. No calls from Atticus, which is a shame. It doesn't take long for the sound of Thor's flying about to reach his ears, though, and he looks up. ]

Avatar Age or something
A scuffle in Lowtown against some thieves and the display of her bending abilities had men and women in metal armor and swords -they were called Templars- lead... or rather forced her into a place called the Gallows. The name didn't bode well. Republic City had its problems, but this Kirkwall. The Avatar's only seen a few things that the city had to offer, but they just weren't pleasant whatsoever.
Maybe it's not so bad she's here though. Naga must have caught something awful because her animal guide isn't feeling quite well. She's told that because of her strange "magic" she needs to meet someone important? Right now, she and Naga are outside and she's comforting her tired out friend.]
Are you holding out okay girl? It seems bad now, but I think we'll be okay! They said that this Enchanter guy can help you out!
[Korra looks around, noticing that there's still a few Templars nearby keeping an eye on her.]
If he can't help, I don't think anyone else will.
Re: Avatar Age or something
He's supposed to deal with her, in any case. It's a small wonder she's not dead, but he supposes this girl has Meredith's desire to find and remove any chink in her Templars' armor to thank for her survival.
He pauses at the foot of the stairs, staring for a bewildered moment into the small holding cell where they put the girl and her animal. What... is that? Only a moment, though, and then the First Enchanter clears his throat. ]
I apologize- you can't have met with a good welcome to end up down here.

Scalebro for sure
So how she managed to let Ian convince her to stay on his ship she has no idea, though at the moment she was tucked beneath a set of stairs out of the sun on the main deck where she wasn't feeling so claustrophobic. Her satchel held protectively close as she read through her notebook, flipping the page and continuing to write. Somehow writing distracted her enough to keep her from thinking too much about what could possibly be swimming beneath the ship.
And because writing was better than openly boggling at the crew members.]

SURPRISE GALLOWS TIME
The door that led to a library located in another continent and world altogether was one of them. It's a recent discovery and slowly she's learning about this "Thedas" and the city of Kirkwall and the misfortune of magic users here known as the Gallows.
Amelia kept herself out of sight and mind from these mages elves and human. Obviously, being a magic user was a negative thing if they had to be present in this location at all time while being guarded by these Templars. Definitely didn't want any trouble here. How on earth would she explain HER kind of magic?
But the lure of books filled with the history and culture of this new and fantastical (if dangerous) world called to her and she makes her third visit longer than the first two (a few hours each of being discreet and listening and not even setting foot outside and reading through choice books quickly).
She's supposed to be careful, but soon the history of Grey Wardens, dwarves, the Chantry, and magic engulf her. Amelia sits surrounded by piles of books immersed in these pages.
And promptly forgetting that her invisibility spell has just wore off and that her red hair, spectacles, and different clothing would make her stand out...]
no subject
Orsino himself is just padding around, only giving the books a cursory look. The shock of unfamiliar red hair catches his attention, however, and he has to stop. He's behind whoever it is, but even so, he can't say they're familiar to him.
One hand drifts towards his staff, ready to make a grab for it as he clears his throat. ]

[The caveat being -- one of them is not as he should be. Maybe they've managed to locate a hotel or something they can crash in for a while. But that's of little consequence to him. He's far more interested in trying to figure out what this strange new frame is capable of.]

AVATAR'S TURF you know who
And then it was just getting ridiculous as Ikki and Meelo circled excitedly around the elf, exclaiming over his ears and robes, with the former shooting out a hundred questions about a time about whether Orsino had better hearing than everyone else around him and where did he come from, etc. Korra had to grab the two and get Jinora to reel her younger siblings in so she can FINALLY have some one on one with the mage.
She's led him to her usual training grounds, where the airbending gates reside. It's a cool afternoon and it's peaceful in this area where the bamboo plants are serene and the sound of the ocean is never too far away.]
Sorry about Tenzin's kids. They're... excitable to say the least.

Rex Marksley ...oh nuts now it's stuck in my head
Mika took a moment to ease herself into a chair on the general store's porch, unhooking a wrench from her tool belt and setting to work on the metal and embellished leather harness that kept her right leg from limping. Well, usually it did. Today she'd found the knee-joint sticking and making her stumble, grumbling to herself as she had to adjust the straps around her shoe and noticed how it was rubbing her ruffled spats. She would definitely have to talk to Jezebel about that.
After several arduous minutes it became clear that she was simply not going to be able to fix it herself with the tools she had to hand. Jezebel had designed the mechanisms in the framework to allow her to walk smoothly as if she hadn't been lame at all, while still giving her exercise to strengthen the bad limb. Which meant that outside of the simpler maintenance like she'd done with the ankle, Mika required a more mechanically-trained eye to help her with it. The knee joint looked as if it was jammed somehow, grit and dirty grease had probably gotten it stuck, and she raised her wrench to give it a solid whack to loosen it out of pure frustration.]
finest marksman in the weeeest
Rex dismounts, and, despite that for all intents and purposes his horse is indeed a robot, tethers it to the hitching post. He tips his hat at Mika in friendly greeting before actually taking note of the expression on her face. ]

There's a blackbird in Las Vegas -- no, really. What it's doing smack dab in the middle of Sin City is anyone's guess really. It's in front of a building no one else seems to notice. It's daytime so there isn't as many people out and about, but the bird does seem to realize that there's an invisible building.
The bird hops around letting out a pained chirp. It's left wing sticks out a sign of it being broken. It looks around desperately as if looking for something or someone. Or just trying to stay out of danger.]

Its pained chirping is enough to draw her attention, but the wing makes her all-out frown. She crouches, extending her free hand to the poor creature ]

Well, until they dug up his body years later, and until they told him he was needed back on base. They promised he wouldn't have to do anything, train the recruits maybe, help with some strategy, but no combat. They said they won't strap him back in and make his partner realize what drowning feels like.
Silly Steve, he believed them.
So there he is, not really watching where he's going because it seems pretty empty in this hall, reading a language help book because if this is a permanent staple, he might as well learn a little Chinese. ]

DOCTOR COME HERE IT'S TIME FOR YOUR DAILY DOSE OF ENGLISH
BUT MOMMY I DON'T WANNA TAKE MY ENGLISH
He didn't want to just blast a sentient machine with an EMP device, but he'd managed to get the big guy into stasis after a few tries. He was looking a little worse for the wear, but the damage should be superficial. Now he just had to wait for him to come back on-line.
So wait he did, while the robot slumbered behind his specially constructed force field. ]

Which is why he's wondering why he's staring at the ceiling rather than sleeping. The last few hours- never mind the last few days- have been a whirlwind. Once the helicopters plucked he and Mako out of the ocean it was back to the Shatterdome and straight to the infirmary- as much as people wanted to celebrate and pat their backs or hoist them up on their shoulders or what have you. They'd been through a lot, the least of which was oxygen deprivation. They'd been pretty much ordered to report straight away, just in case.
The infirmary had also been occupied for a time by both Doctors Gottlieb and Geiszler. It had been... quite loud. Raleigh found he didn't really have the patience for their sniping at each other, thanks mostly to exhaustion, but managed to keep his mouth shut.
Now that the scientists and the medics have departed, leaving he and Mako on separate cots in a darkened infirmary to rest and recover, he finds that he cannot, for the life in him, fall asleep.
He rolls over, eyes falling on the outline of Mako on the next bed over. He's not entirely sure if she's sleeping or not, and can't bring himself to risk waking her. She's been through a lot, too. He knows, he understands intimately what it's like to lose family. But sometimes knowing it's coming is worse than not knowing. He'd been in her head when it happened, and he felt everything she felt. She'd lost more than a mentor- she'd lost a father.
There's a part of him that wants to squeeze into that little cot with her, to wrap his arms around her and never let her go, ill-advised as that may be considering what they've recently gone through. She's become nothing short of precious to him in such a short time, and it's a little astounding to think about. She's his co-pilot. His other half. A voice in the cold, lonely silence left by Yancy's death. Before he met Mako, he could have sworn that silence was never going to end. He'd to anything for her, he knows that with absolute certainty.
None of this contemplation is getting him any closer to sleep, however, so he swings his feet off of the cot and pads over to where Mako is resting. His eyes have adjusted enough that he can see a stray lock of hair has drifted over her cheek. He lets out a soft, amused exhalation, a small smile forming on his face. Even if she could probably kick is ass in a hundred different ways, there's something undeniably sweet about the sight of her lying there.
With careful fingers, he tucks her hair behind her ear. He'd been fully prepared to die in that Jaeger, but fate obviously had other plans.
And if it meant having Mako in his life, then he was certainly glad to be alive. ]
