[ He inclines his head, watching him. ]

Hm. You look a little... hungover, seems to be the right word. I wonder if my little pulse weapon had ill effects after all.

Ah, the discrepancies of varying viewpoints. Lovely.

[He cracks an optic open, a withering look, despite the pounding in his head.]

Hmm. I wonder. You use a weapon, and then appear surprised to see it possesses ill effects.

Of course there are ill effects, it's a bloody weapon.

[ He just arches his eyebrows, amused at the observation. ]

It was never my intention to cause ill effects past knocking you unconscious, or whatever the equivalent for a sentient robot is.

Snap at me again, however, and I might begin to rethink that stance.

Offline will suffice, though it varies from instance to instance.

[He makes a scoffing sound.]

You've pulled me away from incredibly important work and given me a Grimlock-sized headache, I'll be snappish if I want to. If Optimus Prime can take it, I should think an alien abductor can stand a few terse words.

You're hardly in any position to say such things. [ not that he knows what a Grimlock or an Optimus Prime even is. ]

And the real important work is just about to begin.

On the contrary. I'm in the perfect position to say such things, considering I rather doubt anyone who would take the time abducting Cybertron's most brilliant mind would then, in turn, construct a holding facility capable of easy escape.

Therefore, while physically defenseless, my vocal processor is my sole form of tacit protest and I intend to use it to its full functionality.

[ He gives the robot a long look, before the grin comes back ] Under different circumstances, I think I might like you. But right now all you're being is annoying.

Talk all you want, then. It won't stop me from finding out what you're made of.

If I had a cube of energon for every time someone informed me of that, I could put the planet's energy shortage to rights in a moment's notice.

[He makes another scoffing sound, folding his arms.]

Oh, I fully intend to.

[zetabeamguy]

[ He strides over to a computer console and begins clacking away at the keys. A little drone flies over and sweeps around the Cybertronian, scanning him. ]

You're not from Earth, that's obvious enough. What are you?

[sciencetank]

[A bit absently, he swats a hand at the drone, like a human would swat a fly.]

You already know the answer to that, I believe. You already said as much, anyway.

[zetabeamguy]

[ The drone zips neatly out of the way. It's a fast little guy. ]

Going by what you've already told me, "Cybertron" must be your planet of origin. At first I thought you were some kind of Enderri construct, but you're too self-aware, and certainly not insect enough.

Are the native species of your planet mechanical or organic?

[Oh no you don't. Now it's a matter of pride. He's going to try and grab it.]

[Partly because Pride. And partly because what is it.]

Of course I'm self-aware. I'm alive, aren't I?

And what do you believe we are, hm? You already seem to have an idea, may as well elaborate and see how wrong or right your... guesses are.

You're machines. Intelligent, self-aware machines. But what I wish to know is where that self-awareness comes from. You claim you're alive, but how do you know you haven't been programmed to think that way?

How do we know you just aren't having delusions of being sentient, living things, either?

Why does it matter? It isn't as if it's replicable.

[zetabeamguy]

Because human beings aren't built. Not like machines.

But even if your will isn't replicable, the rest of you might very well be. You are a stunning piece of work.

If you were anyone else, I would assume that was a pickup line.

Your compliment is noted. Though I sincerely doubt it's possible.

Oh, but I deal in the impossible. I have built machines that will switch peoples' brains, I have traveled back in time, and I have moved the moon.

You, my metal friend, are just another robot.

... Of course you have.

[You're tiny and made of meat, human, that stuff can't happen.]

But, that is where you're impossibly incorrect.

You don't believe me. But then I suppose I haven't really given you a reason to, have I?

You've given me copious reasons to have a headache, but nothing beyond that, no.

[zetabeamguy]

Look around you, robot. [ He waves an arm and the expansive chamber they're in. Everything is chrome and twinkling LED lights. It's packed with monitors and robots of varying sizes- small flying drones, spider-like attack models, and humanoid workers. ] Everything you see, I have built.

[He does glance around a bit. He'd have his eyebrows raised if he actually possessed any.]

And I completely reinvented a system of information storing and gathering, while overhauling the old components and instating a planet-wide network of use.

While researching the effects of detrimental substances on Cybertronian frames and attempting to negate a growing energy shortage.

[He folds his arms again.]

Your work is quite flashy, I'll give it that.

Have you now? That sounds like useful information to have. I wonder what it would take to pull it out of your head.

A lot more high grade, and a considerably more attractive frame.
