[She cocks her head as she gives a rock a gentle kick, seeing it skip down the dirt path.]
Never really gave it much thought, I've been so busy since...
[She trails off, her ears twitching.]

[She sighs, her ears drooping a little.]
It's been some time since then, and Jezebel made this walking aide for me. It's been very helpful.

[Mika tries not to focus on the memory.]
Something came through, I don't remember much of that night. It was after that we started working on the wards together.

[Her tail wags a little as she smiles, suddenly thinking of something.]

Slipping her hand into one of her satchels, she pulls out a small brass and copper rod and gave it a small flick. Her walking stick that she also used as a chalk marker extends and locks itself into position with a click as the first of Jezebel's ward machines came into sight. Mika swings it up to let it rest on her shoulder.]

Pulling out a few prepared vials, Mika opened up a side hatch and locked them into place while removing some others and tucking them away. Stepping back with a sigh as she looked the metal beast over, she used her walking stick to chalk a mark near the top that was usually well out of reach without a ladder.]
I'm going to have to refill the water tanks soon and drain the dregs out. [She pointed a claw to the mark she'd placed and looked up at Rex.] That's supposed to help magnify the protection wards engraved on the metal until the job is done.
[From the look she gave it, Mika was clearly hoping it would work the way it should.]
