[ Hannah was on her way back home to the club, a canvas bag dangling from one arm, when she happens across the little bird just outside.

Its pained chirping is enough to draw her attention, but the wing makes her all-out frown. She crouches, extending her free hand to the poor creature ]

Hey there, little guy. What happened to you?

[littlebreeze]

[Girl. Giiiiiirrrrlll.

Can't be helped though. The bird hops backwards away from Hannah at first, but stands still, its dark eyes blinking up at the human, studying her closely.

It seems to make up its and walks up to Hannah, but not without some pain.]

Oh, you poor thing.

[ She rearranges her bag so she can scoop the little bird up with care, cradling it close as she stands. ]

Let's see if there's something we can do with you.

[littlebreeze]

[Oh. This is nice. And her animal instincts aren't as dull as she expected even after all these years. The blackbird chirps in response to being cradled. The bird stays surprisingly still waiting to see which building the young woman was going to head into Whatever happens, it's going to determine the bird's next few moves.

Hopefully, they'll be wise ones.]

[ Hannah enters the Griffonix, which might not have been there a moment before. Early in the day as it is, it's fairly empty. Madigan is doing some things around the bar, and she questions Hannah about her passenger. ]

I found it outside. I think it's got a broken wing. You know me, big softie, I couldn't leave it there.

[ For her own part, Madigan just shakes her head and waves Hannah on. She heads around to a special door that leads to where the girls live. There's a community kitchen and living area for all of them to share, as well as individual bedrooms for each. Hannah heads to hers and closes the door behind her. ]

Now, what am I going to do with you?

[The bird was able to catch sight of the building. It knows magic and it can FEEL it. And when Hannah enters, it confirms its suspicions.

And well, if this place is magic, then this should be fine. This being, speaking up all of a sudden in a voice very akin to a human girl's.]

Can I have some water first??

[Hey, she did ask.]

[ She very nearly drops everything- bird, shopping bag and all. ]

You can talk?? Are you a shifter?

[She manages to keep her balance and hang onto the sides of the bag with her feet.]

Careful! And yes, I am pretty much!

Goodness, I should have waited until you set the bag down. Humans are so excitable, really!

Well you could have said something sooner.

[ She sets her bag on the floor. The bird, she places on her bed. ]

Is your wing broken?

Can't blame a bird for being careful can you? Most injured animals usually aren't so lucky.

[The blackbird carefully settles herself on the bed.]

Yes, feels like it. Been a while since that happened, I'm usually more careful.

I'm no healer... well, not a normal sort of healer, but I could try to set it if you want?

Huh. Well...

[She thinks for a moment.]

Would it be easier if I was in human form? Inconvenient as it is, a broken wing shouldn't stop me from shifting.

A bird's wing would probably be easier to set than a human arm. Unless you want me to use my magic, but I'd sort of have to sleep with you for that.

[littlebreeze]

[The bird tilts her head.]

Can't say I ever heard of that kind of magic before. Why is the sleeping necessary?

[Oh, no..........]

It's sex magic, hon. That kind of sleeping.

Oooooooooh!! I get it! Wow, Vegas is an amazing city!

I guess it is. But I have no idea what that has to do with me fixing your arm. Wing. Thing.

[littlebreeze]

[The bird flaps her unbroken wing excitedly.]

I read about Las Vegas in stories and lots of crime novels. All sorts of crazy human activity happens including sexual exploits! As a blackbird, I think it's rather fascinating how you people keep yourselves busy.

Er, on that note though, I'll just have my wing set as a bird. Zephyr says I would probably get people arrested with the other way I look.

Easy there! Don't aggravate your condition!

[ She reaches over to scoop up the little bird again ]

Why? Do you look like you're twelve or something?

[littlebreeze]

Twelve. Thirteen. Take your pick. Either way, I'm still older than most.

[She tucks her feet underneath herself so she doesn't accidentally scratch the lady.]

It's the only form I know how to look like. I stuck with it for so long, it never occurred to me to make myself look older.

I'm older than I look, too, if that's any consolation.

Oh? How old exactly?

Thirty-eight. I'm young still compared to some of the others here, but I still don't look my age. I get carded when going to see R-rated movies sometimes!

I don't even remember how old I am. If I want to watch that kind of movie, Zephyr has to hide me in his jacket or a bag.

[She pauses as if she just remembered something.]
