[ This is an apartment. It's a fairly small apartment- even for someone on Jacob's salary, but it suits him. Every thing is practical and neat- if a little dark. Dear Jake has a fondness for dark wood when it comes to furniture- and perfect.

Except for the part where there's a 200-pound wolf sprawled on the bed like he owns it. The fedora is hanging from one of the bedposts, for want of a proper hat rack.

Jacob himself is in the shower, pondering how the hell his life got so complicated all of a sudden. ]

[ lhjfhgfs facepalming again to cover up the fact that he might have... turned a little red ] Why me?

... Look, since you're here, I had something I wanted to ask your opinion on anyway. Just... give me a moment to get dressed.

[She snorts. It's totally ladylike, shut up.]

Ha ha. Just don't break anything. [ he heads back from whence he came to go find clothes. ]

[ As for the apartment, there's the obvious- newspaper on the table, a few bills. And then, oddly, framed photgraphs. An old house on rolling green hills. A smiling elderly couple with a smiling Jacob in front of the same house. A photo of a grinning woman- Jacob's mother, they have the same eyes- playfully mussing a teenaged Jacob's hair. A few more photos of the same nature are scattered around.

Perhaps he never has time for friends, but family is obviously very, very important. His father, however, is conspicuously absent. ]

[She sticks her tongue out at his retreating back, but then proceeds to rifle through his belongings.

Bills are interesting. Newspaper's boring. The photos... curious. She never pegged him for a sentimental guy. House is nice. Not in the city. Maybe Dad's dead... maybe he's a bastard.

Cool.

She then flops on the couch, propping her feet up daintily on an arm, to wait.]

[ HEY HEY KARA. SOMEONE WANTS MORE PETTINGS ]

[ And Jake emerges a few moments later on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt- casual clothes, he owns them! He also has a box tucked under one arm ]

[ He fishes a few papers out of the box- they look like they were torn out of a very old book- and hands them over ]

[She'll study them for a moment before quirking an eyebrow.]

That's... nice? What is it?

I was hoping you could tell me. I found them with, well- [ motions to Fedora, who's settled down on the floor ]

It... could be Celtic. Ye Olde English... Maybe? I don't know, why don't you go ask someone who--I don't know--knows old books?

If I knew who to go to, I would. To be fair, you've probably got more connections in this area than I do.
