I'm not trying to flatter you- I'm only telling the truth. [ but he doesn't stand there to see if Sideways is capable of blushing further, he just steps into an open area and transforms ]
W-well thank... thank you. [He's definitely starting to blush more, but finds his way onto a paved spot and folds into vehicle mode himself. Crisis averted!]
[ Drift is no pushover, but Sideways has him beat off the starting block. And well, when he hits those corners? They don't call him "Drift" for nothing. ]
[That is awesome... and distracting. And Sideways is getting used to four-wheel driving again - little more difficult than getting back to the running. He fish-tails a bit on the corners, having to slow himself down to keep in control.]
[ Drift's careful to keep an eye on his friend, making sure he doesn't crash into anything. But, like Sideways though he may, he's not about to let him win. He's gonna have to work for it. ]
[He manages not to crash, if only by virtue of deploying one of his saws for traction. He figures he won't be getting off easy, but he's not going to get reckless just to win. It's all for fun, after all. Though he does try to compensate for the ground he lost by speeding up on the straightaways.]
[He'd figured that Drift would have beat him by a longshot by now; he's pretty amazed that he's kept up. And really, Drift's probably the only one he wouldn't mind losing to. But he's still going to try to beat him back to the warehouse.
[ Drift might have chuckled at that, but it's hard to say over the noise of his engine. It's not a long stretch of road, but he manages an impressive speed- and if Sideways is having to hold back, Drift might just win this ]
[Sideways is naturally a neurotic little thing; he's only concerned about over-taxing his systems. Any other day, he'd be gunning it. And losing to Drift isn't a mark against his pride, he thinks.]
[ And win it he does. Drift pulls to a stop after crossing the finish line, and sits there for a moment, idling. ] If we'd kept to a straight route, I think I'd still be trying to catch up.
[He skids to a stop after crossing the line himself, though he shifts back and forth on his tires a little - almost a smile, if a car could actually manage it.] Oh, you're just bein' nice. And if there had been a few more turns, you would've left me in the dust.

Now, where should we race to?

Around a couple blocks, and end here, maybe? Just make a big circle... well, rectangle?
