I wish for long, lingering glances--

[ Noire... might be a bit grumpy, today-- not quite screeching her ire to the heavens (yet), but not in the best of moods, either. Recovering from Haven meant multiple things... waking up in a cold sweat from a nightmare where the content had increased in variety, having to force herself to eat more to make up for all the weight she'd lost, taking longer to recover from battles... some scars still remained, refusing to let her forget.

But there was also Morgan, the Morgan she'd sworn herself to, and that never fails to make the dreary bits better. She could do with that reminder right now, though, as she sits and works furiously at sharpening yet another arrow. It's tedious work and she's starting to get a headache, but it's something that has to be done. Even if she had slept poorly. ]

That's it, huh? Rings aside, it doesn't seem too different from normal coupley things.

[ ... ]

Oh, of course. How could I forget? Being married means having kids! [ He nods to himself, QUESTION ANSWERED. ]

T-that too, but I don't-- I mean, I haven't really thought about that--!

[ STOP SAYING THINGS SO CALMLY. ]

Aw, it's okay. Before we could even think about kids, we'd need a place to live, which means a steady income, and it should probably be during peacetime -- having to worry about your infant child being engulfed in flames during a fire attack on your caravan would probably be a little stressful. Though Mother said she left me and Lucina with palace caretakers when she had to leave for work, and we turned out all right.

[ It's not like he and his sister have massive parent attachment issues or anthing!! He waves his free hand. ]

So there are plenty of other things on our agenda before that!

[ Your girlfriend is turning a little pale, just thinking about all of this. ]

That's right... before that, I have to improve my stamina and make sure we survive any future skirmishes, and a job... maybe I could try selling my cakes, but...

[ But your boyfriend is so excited?? He presses against her eagerly, squeezing her hand. ]

Heeey, that's an amazing idea! Your cakes would sell like -- like, well, hotcakes! And I could help you out on tactical off-seasons, too. You see? There's nothing to fret about.

[ Life is so easy and nothing could go wrong...! ]

There's a lot to fret about! What if I get too sick, or I get pregnant and you decide you don't like pregnant women, or one of us dies, or--

[ EVERYTHING???? ]

[ How do two diametrically opposed people like this even get together. Morgan squeezes her into a hug from the middle. ]

Even if you get sick, you'll get better, you'll be adorable no matter how pregnant you are, and neither of us are gonna die. It'll be okay, Noire.

[ And he'll nuzzle her for extra comfort. Nuzzle all those worries away!! ]

[ Because two similar people would self-destruct or something. It takes Noire awhile to let the nuzzling sink in, and her forehead is still creased, but she sighs after a minute and leans against him. ]

I wish I had your confidence, Morgan...

[ Poor Noire. For all that she's accomplished and overcome, she's still so uncertain. He rests his head against hers gently. ]

Just remember that I fell in love with you out of alll the girls out there. That's gotta count for something, right?

I still think that's some sort of miracle. [ She smiles, though-- softly. ] I'm grateful for it very day.

[ Never too idle, his thumb rubs a slow path into her waist. ]

Mm-mm. Miracles are things that happen beyond all reason, like your bow turning into a fish or Nah sprouting two feet overnight. Me being in love with you was completely logical.

Can I kiss you?

[ Still asking permission, this one, but when he says things like that that make her throat tight-- ]

Well, I don't see why not.

[ He lifts his head and looks at her with a lopsided smile. Maybe he can convince her that she doesn't have to ask anymore once they actually do that marriage thing. ]

I just thought I'd... [ But Noire trails off, embarrassed, before she squares her shoulders and leans in to bring their mouths together. One day, she won't ask-- ]

[ He leans on one hand and finds her hand with the other, looking to give it an encouraging rub. With all this courage she's mustering up, he takes it she's not looking for just a cute little peck -- so he meets her with a real kiss, the kind to relish and relax in. Hopefully, she won't mind the faint taste of candy. ]

[ Not at all. It's sweet, and fitting of Morgan, and it makes her lips curve in a smile as she relaxes against him-- just before they part for something a little deeper. ]

[ He's more than happy to oblige. With privacy as scarce as it is in army life, he can never help looking forward to the next time he can spend a quiet moment with her, and even more forward to the next time he can kiss her properly. So he fully embraces this opportunity, forgetting his chores and duties, letting himself sink into the sense of Noire and her lips alone. He's been waiting for this, really, and so the next kiss is a little deeper still. ]

[ Which is still fine. Like Morgan, Noire never takes an encounter between them for granted, especially when she'd gone so long without him in the first place. That he's here at all means the world and outrealms to her, and there's a very soft sound of approval that doesn't quite leave her throat as she presses in closer.

Losing herself like this... is fine, isn't it? ]

[ He'd be entirely the wrong person to ask. A corner of his mind recognizes that this is probably the wrong time of day for this kind of horseplay, but the teenage, stupidly-in-love rest of him deems it more than fine. He murmurs between kisses, a little breathless. ]

I'm starting to think I'm distracting you from your rest.

A little... [ Yeah, she'll admit it, softly dazed. She recognizes the fact that she should be resting or leaning against him and not making out with him, but she takes her opportunities where she can. She's learned that much from him. ]

... But I don't mind.

[ He hums in deep understanding, and lets himself enjoy one more kiss (or two or three) before drawing back and moving aside. Cheerfully, he pats the spot he just vacated. ]

I know how to really help you relax. I just need you to lie on your belly first.

On my stomach?

[ She's staring at him a little dubiously. ]

Mm-hm.

[ And he's staring back at her expectantly. Has he ever steered her wrong?? ]

...

[ Oh-so-slooowly just going to lower herself down, then. She'll trust you, Morgan!! ]

[ He watches her sloooowly settle down while he gets onto his knees, mildly concerned by her hesitation. Once it looks like Noire is comfortable, he lays his hands on her back and carefully begins to knead. ]

Is everything all right?

[ Is lying on her stomach a problem?
