General Merida stuff awwyeah
So here's how it goes down! You tag with a location in the subject (DunBroch, New Jersey, Space, etc.) and you're free to come up with a scenario or leave it blank, in which case I will do my best to come up with one!
Come at me, bros.
Come at me, bros.
awwyeee
In short, Merida took one look at her and wanted to take off into the woods immediately.
But no, she had to be polite, and when Natalia curtsied, Merida gave her version of a demure nod. Which was more of a brief jerk of her chin. ]
Ach, c'mon then. I just hope your mare'll be able to keep up with the likes of Angus.

Oh, haha, you mean your, ah... [Natalia searched for an apt descriptor as Angus himself came into view. 'Plowhorse' was probably not acceptable.] ...charger? He's quite proud-looking.
[Certainly no fleet-footed destrier like her own more delicately-built animal, but Natalia was aware that it wasn't given to all ladies to be as keen in the saddle as she.] I'm certain Fiona will manage. Won't you, girl?
[Fiona's ears pricked with interest as her mistress swung up and settled. One hoof pawed the ground restlessly. Natalia gave Merida a practiced, graceful smile.] After you.

[ Merida wasn't her mother. Merida couldn't smile her way through politely insulting visitors, and if Natalia felt as though underestimating the Clydesdale and underestimating DunBroch's princess was a grand idea, then fine.
In one quick jump, she'd gone from the ground to a foot in the stirrup and onto Angus' back. She was still swaying when she nudged the horse into a thundering run with a joyous yell.
Natalia could surely keep up. ]

[That--]
[Not entirely unexpected, given what she'd noticed of Merida's temperament, but probably not what the queen had intended when she'd told Natalia that Merida would giving her a 'brisk tour of the grounds'.]
After them, girl!
[Unwilling to lose face, Natalia urged her mare forward into a gallop, the two of them surging to catch up. What Natalia had assumed to be a placid plowhorse revealed himself instead to be, as described, a charger.
She followed the glinting of Angus' horseshoes in the sunlight, and it led her right out of Dubroch's front gate. The people hardly seemed to notice the two of them hurtling past. Merida was living up to her reputation.
When finally Fiona had pulled up to Angus' broad chest, Natalia was smiling.]
