Scalebro for sure
So how she managed to let Ian convince her to stay on his ship she has no idea, though at the moment she was tucked beneath a set of stairs out of the sun on the main deck where she wasn't feeling so claustrophobic. Her satchel held protectively close as she read through her notebook, flipping the page and continuing to write. Somehow writing distracted her enough to keep her from thinking too much about what could possibly be swimming beneath the ship.
And because writing was better than openly boggling at the crew members.]

So he pokes his head into her little hiding space, smiling at her ]
Is this a private party, or may I join you?
no subject
You can join me, I don't mind. I just...was getting a little nervous, is all.
[She shifted to make more room for him, her tail thumping against the wooden deck.]
no subject
Nervous?

[She ducks her head, her ears drooping as she rests her chin on her knees.]
I'm kind of scared of deep water. I hadn't realized how bad it was until I was on the ship. I only thought it was lakes I was scared of.

[Her ears droop as she hugs her knees, looking embarrassed.]
As long as there's no giant water monsters I suppose I'll be okay sooner or later, right? At least I hope so.

I don't know, I've just been trying to distract myself.
no subject
I won't let anything happen to you, so long as you're on this ship. I swear.

[She smiles a little, his efforts having an almost instantaneous effect on her as her shoulders relax and her tail began wagging. Even if she was scared of what could be lurking in the water, she was still glad he brought her with him.]

[ He smiles at her, leaning in to bump their foreheads together. ]

[She grins, rubbing her forehead against his while her tail thumps noisily against the deck.]

I think I can do that much at least.

[She takes his hand, rising to her feet and stopping only to dust off the seat of her pants.]

[ He guides her out from under her stairs and onto the main deck. The Dead End Moon isn't a large ship, by any means, but she gets the job done.
Right now they have a decent wind, and are moving along at a good clip. No land in sight, at least for the moment.
The crew is a modest size, and surprisingly versatile. (Ian is the only Raptori on board, however.) They regard Mika and Ian with small smiles and nods before returning to their work. ]

Mika could manage a small smile and a tiny wave in greeting no matter whether she'd shrink behind Ian's back or not.
It was a good thing the wind could distract her easily, though. A strange scent catches her attention occasionally and she pauses mid-step, sniffing at the air before leaning against him again.]

I don't know what it is but it's pretty faint. I wish I could figure out what it is, though.
no subject
Ah-! [ He recoils suddenly, letting go of her hand so he can press his fingers to the back of his left shoulder ]
And there it is. Damnable thing.
no subject
[Her startle response is to immediately freeze, nostrils flared as her ears perk, her flight response nearly making her drop to the deck.]
no subject
... I haven't really told you what's happened since I left Mayfield, have I?
no subject
[Grumbling deep in her chest she rubs her face, feeling a little embarrassed by her overreaction before she gives him a tiny glare.]
No, I don't think you had. Care to enlighten me?
