Ninja shenanigans

[ there are very few fights where Kasuga has found herself backed - no, slammed into a corner, and she's loath to admit it, but without Sasuke, she can't confidently say she would still be alive.

But she is, and he is, and although their opponent still lives, he's doing so at a safe distance-- far enough for Kasuga to dazedly drag herself up against a nearby tree and fumble for her medical kit. Sasuke-- she'd lost sight of him, and she leans back against the trunk with a ragged breath before she turns her head to see if she can spot him now. ]

[ He gets to his feet, then, and with little more than a quick glance to make sure she's following, he bounds off into the surrounding forest. ]

[ she hesitates only long enough to give the area a quick sweep, make sure everything's secure-- and then she's taken to the air to follow him. ]

[ It's a pretty fair distance, but then they're just suddenly there. The trees stop abruptly to make way for a field of white flowers, petals open to the moon.

Sasuke perches on a branch, waiting for her to catch up. ]

[ and catch up she does, landing right beside him-- and then her breath catches, and she's arrested by the sight spread out before them. ]

Beautiful, isn't it?

I don't know how I could have missed this... but it really is beautiful.

[ninjamom]

[ He takes a seat on the branch, leaning back against the trunk. ]

It doesn't look like anything special during the day. Just a field. But when the sun goes down, it just comes to life.

Did you find it during a mission?

[ninjamom]

Yeah. Some enemy scouts were trying to pick their way through this field under the cover of darkness. The white flowers did not help their ability to blend in at all.

[pinupninja]

[ a snort. ] Easy target practice, then?

[ninjamom]

Pretty much.

I've passed by a few times since then, but I haven't really gotten a chance to just stop and look.

[ninjamom]

... I appreciate this.

[ GLANCING AWAY. ]

[ NO STOP HER FACE CAN'T HANDLE THIS. ]

Sasuke...

[ninjamom]

[ He gets back to his feet, padding over and reaching for her hand ]

Hey. Look at me.

[pinupninja]

[ she's not entirely able to school her expression back to nonchalance when she lifts her eyes to his face, but after everything-- well, it's the least she can do. ]

[ninjamom]

[ He gives her a little grin. Something warm and fond.

That's all the warning she gets before he kisses her. ]

[ you'd think she'd be a little more prepared, but the fact is, Kasuga has never been too good at predicting Sasuke. And from her muffled noise, she wasn't prepared for this either.

... And maybe she's not expecting her response, the way she leans into him, the way she finally yields. ]

[ninjamom]

[ It's a relief when she responds. He knows this wasn't for nothing. Pursuing this is dangerous, yes, and maybe a little selfish, but he can't help it.

He slips an arm around her waist, and pulls her closer. ]

[ she goes along with it, catching a better grip on his shoulders and tilting her head to kiss him a little more firmly. ]
