[ It is a relatively quiet day in the apartment of one Saga Laskaris- unless you were to wander into the kitchen. Then you would find all manner of things happening, dishes heaped up everywhere, and some very tantalizing smells coming from the sizzling skillets on the stove top. In the middle of it is Alabaster, in a simple t-shirt and jeans (and no shoes. Just socks), bustling back and forth, metallic arms zipping everywhere. ]

[ shouldn't've have done that, Alabaster. Now she's alternating between trailing her fingers and gentle pressure out of sheer curiosity (since she thinks she really did poke too hard). ]

I've got a rune I can use to suppress the reaction your arms might give off. But like I said, it's the internal part I'm concerned about. Our options are sort of limited there, and I really don't want to ask my grandfather.

[ she's not looking much better, and is actually doing her damnedest not to turn red. ] Nononono, that was totally my fault! [ A few moments later there's the sound of the front door opening and closing- Alabaster is going for a walk. A very, very long walk. ]

... Well. [ listening to the door close ] We might not see him again for awhile, Duff. Maybe days.

[ painting cats will never end well. But chances are by the time he's back, Saga will be up and about and buried in research and phone calls again. ]

Yes, I already told you I was coming-- and him, too, but that doesn't mean you can harass-- don't you dare say that to Mom, it's not like that!! [ pausing to listen, then frowning ] I'm doing fine. It hasn't taken a toll yet, and I've got at least half a year-- I get it, okay? I'll see you next week.

[ she's moving a little more gingerly than usual, clearly still adjusting to being back on her feet, but she's more than efficient enough to get things done, and she's returning with two mugs, one of which she's offering him ]

I managed to get you a plane ticket; you're not by me, but I'm sure I can find a way to switch seats on the plane if it comes to that.

California, with no layovers-- it's kind of a long flight. My brother will be there to pick us up.
