log > how are these two so darn cute?

It had been an admittedly strange situation they had all been in - shopping mall, zombies, black outs - it was like a horror film gone wrong.

No one had any explanation for their sudden appearance in the mall, nor did anyone have an explanation for their sudden disappearance from the mall. Just as no one had an explanation for the blue Chevrolet Volt currently parked outside of B.A.B.E.L. headquarters.

For his own part, Jolt was doing what Autobots did best (aside from kicking Decepticon skidplate), and that was hiding in plain sight. Asphalt and sunshine, he decided, were preferable to zombie-laden carpet and the near-darkness of a mall without power. He just didn't like having to wait while Naomi was inside - no doubt trying to explain where the frag she'd been all this time. Jolt'd had a similar problem relaying his whereabouts to - of all mechs - Ratchet. (No doubt the medic thought he was glitched for insisting he'd been fighting off zombies all this time.) But, after much instance, and pleading for Optimus' permission, Jolt was allowed to stay with Naomi for the time being.

The Autobot sighed inwardly. He was still waiting, and he still hated it.

And now the conversation had hit incredibly high levels of EXTREMELY AWKWARD, as the esper proved that the entire quantity of blood in a human's body could indeed gather solely in their face.

"I-- um-- no, I-- don't think anyone's ever actually liked me that way, b-because of what I am, and I've never really liked anyone that way, either--" Not to mention that the organization was fiercely protect of the espers and their romantic interests. There were very few that hadn't been scared off by the chief sending in armed forces to interfere with dates.

"I probably won't ever have anyone!" Naomi concluded in a surprisingly coherent and cheerful voice, well aware of the obstacles she'd be stuck going up against if the situation ever changed.

"It shouldn't be." Indignation won out over embarrassment, and Naomi prodded one of the fingers that kept her cradled there. "You're a wonderful Autobot, you're brave, you're powerful, you're smart, you're funny, you're caring, you're a good soldier, and I bet there are a lot of people--" Okay, not the right term. "... Ladies that would want to be with you!"

She paused for a breath, then added in a softer tone, "But if it's got to do with your war, I can see why you wouldn't want to get involved with anybody."

If she was starting to get an idea as to why his fans kept whirring at the oddest time, she didn't say anything. Nor did she try to make eye contact with him once he'd looked away. She chose to hunch down a little in his palm, her own eyes trained on the metal that held her.

"Wars don't last forever... I'm sure you'll find her when it's the right time."

Naomi was definitely relieved for a distraction, no matter how thinly veiled it was. She'd been able to regain most of her stamina just by resting up here, and she could do with a few more hours of sleep, but business first.

"You're right." She glanced up at him now, very serene and composed, as if the last ten minutes hadn't just occurred. "I'll lift you back down."

It took less time to lower him to the ground-- but she'd always had an easier time when it came to lowering versus lifting. Not that he wasn't still ridiculously heavy, but at least she was only slightly out of breath once they were both back on the ground.

"Will you be all right out here?"

Naomi hesitated, clearly reluctant to just abandon him out here. She'd get questioned about worrying about a seemingly-normal car, however, and so she slowly stepped away from him, turning to make her way back to the dorm.

"Sleep well, okay?"
