[ though hey making out with the hood on can be a thing for sure ]

--Did you read that one novel I sent you? The one with the big, beefy guy without a shirt on and with long hair on the cover?

[ because that might also be an apt reference for 'what happens next.' ]

I'd like to, but not before you're ready to show me.

[ And as for that second part... Maya just goes bright red ] I. Uh. Yes. Why?

[ She bites her lower lip to hold back another smile. ]

Oh, nothing. Just curious.

That would be something you would have to be ready for, of course. It's not my goal to make you feel uncomfortable.

But if you wanted to... stay. For the night. I um. I wouldn't say no.

There's no need to rush. But... If you'd have me, I'll stay.

I don't sleep with the hood on, by the way.

I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want you around.

[ She gives a little laugh, stepping away finally to sit on the edge of the bed ] I didn't think you did, but I'm not here to judge.

[ She laughs, her gaze following Maya as she moves towards the bed, and she takes a brief moment to--finally--slowly reach up, her fingers grasping at the edges of her hood, and she says not a word as she pulls it back and lets the hood drop down to her shoulders. ]

Well, there we go.

[ Maya just smiles ] Just as I thought.

You're lovely.

And you're a sweetheart.

Hope this isn't too big of a gamechanger, like "oh, I've seen her face, all the allure of mystery is gone now."

On the contrary. I'm honored that you'd trust me with this.

[ She steps closer, standing in front of Maya and placing her hands on her shoulders. ]

I figured if anyone tried to bother you about me, you could just kick their asses. Right?

As if there was any doubt.

[ Maya reaches up, brushing the fingers of her bare hand along Kasumi's hairline ] If anyone ever tries to use me to get to you, I'll incinerate their brain.

[ She smiles, one hand reaching up to rest atop Maya's. ]

Good, because I'm wanted in at least twelve systems.

You're in good company. Did I tell you that Hyperion put a $720 billion bounty on my head?

That's not nearly enough credits for how amazing you are.

[ she grabs Kasumi's wrist and tugs the other woman onto her lap. Her free hand drifts to Kasumi's hair tie ] May I?

[ Kasumi gladly slips onto her lap and, moving her hands so that her arms are now draped onto Maya's shoulders, gives the Siren a sly look. ]

You may.

[ Goodbye, pesky hair tie!

And Maya may have underestimated the power of Kasumi with her hair down because she honestly stares for a second. ]

Oh... uh. Wow.

[ she quirks a brow ]

Is that a good wow? Because my hair's probably a mess.

It's a very good wow. I don't know that I expected you to have long hair under that hood.

[ She idly tucks her hair behind her ear. ]

What were you expecting, anyway?

I don't know. Something shorter, maybe? But I really like this.

Having it long means I always get that "wow" factor when I let it down.

[ because that happens so often in the presence of other people. totally. ]

But I'm glad you like it, Maya. You're the only one who'll get to enjoy the view, anyway.

Lucky me. [ she brushes Kasumi's hair aside and trails a few kisses long her jaw. That seemed to work in some of those novels, right? ]
