[It was nearing midnight when Seto finally gets home from his part-time job, already feeling the exhaustion creeping into his bones as he opens the door to the apartment. Kido was probably asleep by now, and he had seen Kano on the way back home, but it seemed he was out for his late-night strolls again. One day he'll convince him to stop, but he rarely listened to Seto's good-natured concerns lately.

He was tempted to just head straight to his room and collapse, but he knows that Mary would be expecting him to at least check up on her. She doesn't spend as much time with Kano and Kido as she does with him, and given he's been staying out later and later with the new project in his job, he's worried about her too. He enjoyed their conversations, but he doesn't want her overexerting herself as well. So he forces himself to change directions, heading straight to her room and testing the handle to see if it was unlocked. If it were, that means she's still awake, and they can still chat before he retires for the night.

[ She's awake. Awake, and wrapped in a blanket, and maybe she was reading through her newest volume of manga or just trying to stay awake until he returned-- whatever the case, when the door creaks open, her head is shooting up, eyes widening at the sight of him. ]

Seto...! You're back!

Hi Mary. Sorry I took so long tonight. [He says cheerfully, though there was a tired note in his voice. Despite that though, he goes into the room to accompany her, watching her curiously.] Is that one new?

[immobileyes]

You're home, so it's all right. [ but she'll pat her bed, because he sounds tired. He can sit down. ] And-- mm! Momo-chan went with me to get it! It's really good!

[eyedealistic]

Ah! She visited? [Given she's been busy too, that's a relief. He had been wondering about leaving her with Kano all day... if he was even here.] I'm glad then. You two've been getting along pretty well, right?

[Blinking. Huh.] Does that really matter though, if they're not really brothers? I think it shouldn't be a problem. [Look at him and Kano, he thinks he's his brother and they're totally chill.]

The... tension is more the romantic kind, though?

... But I don't see anything wrong with it, either!

[... Suddenly glad he didn't voice out the Kano part in all this. Romantic tension with Kano???] Ah! Now I get it. [He grins at that, unfazed.]

Ya really like that stuff, huh. So what happens to them? Or haven't you finished yet.

Not yet... I'm almost there, but I'm sleepy, but I wasn't sure when you'd get back...

[eyedealistic]

You sure you should wait for me all the time? You still need ta rest too. [And considering he might be shifting to another part-time job with a questionable schedule, well...]

I-I want to! Someone should be waiting for you to come back, Seto!

[eyedealistic]

Thanks. It's great though, because I don't get to see everyone as much in the morning anymore. [He laughs pleasantly at that, happy to hear it. Of course, he has a feeling that both Kano and Kido were also keeping watch, though they hide it much better than Mary does.

Well, speaking of Kano...] Do you know why Kano's out so late?

[immobileyes]

He said something about Kido being in a bad mood, and he didn't want her to break any furniture on his account...?

[ One never knew with Kano. ]

Ah, he probably said something embarrassing to her again. [Okay, that explained that much.]

Okay then. You should tell me more about what you guys did when you went out.
