[ She just nudges the sugar and cream towards him. ] Here you are.

[sciencetank]

[Her efforts are rewarded with a blank stare.]

And... those are?

[makeshiftwings]

Sugar and cream. They can change the flavor of the coffee. Most people probably do a spoonful of each, if you wanted to try it out.

[sciencetank]

[His expression brightens.]

It certainly sounds like an experiment that must be attempted.

[And he does just as she says, but not without trying the coffee first with only sugar, then adding the cream.]

... sweeter. Softer. As if it's been filtered, now. Most interesting...

[makeshiftwings]

Just don't drink too much. It'll make you jittery.

[ That advice given, she plops back down on the bed to watch him, oddly fascinated. He's so... adorable. ]

Jittery? As in, overly energized?

[Coffee makes you drunk?]

[makeshiftwings]

That's one way to put it.

[sciencetank]

... Fascinating.

[He's going to drink more now, okay.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ oh boy. What has she gotten into? ]

[sciencetank]

[It's okay, Angel. He's still a big guy. It's going to take more than one cup of coffee to make him jitter around.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ ... how may cups is it going to take, then? ]

[sciencetank]

[... five, probably.]

[Brace yourself for a scientific discourse on the curtains in the room. At warp-speed.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ Poor Angel just flopped back on the bed at some point, trying to bury under the pillows, since she can't seem to get him to stop. Eventually it becomes even too much for her endless spring of patience.

She gets up, and stalks over to him. ] Perceptor.

[ She reaches up- and since she's fairly short, it takes some doing- and clamps her hands on either side of his face, forcing him to concentrate on her ] Perceptor. Stop. Please. I warned you about the coffee, didn't I?

[sciencetank]

[He's startled enough by her sudden touch -- and how real and assertive tactile sensations are -- to stop mid-sentence. He ends up staring at her in wordless, jittery silence for several long moments before he speaks.]

...

I feel fine.

[makeshiftwings]

[ She stares right back at him, feeling a blush rise in her cheeks. Oh. Maybe this wasn't a good plan.

But she holds her ground. If that's what it takes to get him to focus, she can deal. ]

You've been talking nonstop about the curtains.

Maybe we should... go for a walk or something. To work off all that energy.

[sciencetank]

[He looks utterly clueless to her discomfort -- maybe it's the caffeine at work.]

Well. Yes. They're seemingly a senseless feature of the room, wouldn't you say? Why have windows if you're only going to cover them?

[But then he nods.]

Yes. That would work. That would work very well.

[makeshiftwings]

A walk it is, then. Come on. [ She lets go of his face, and elects to grab him by the hand, determinedly ignoring the heat in her cheeks.

The hotel has a fairly decently-sized courtyard thing, so that's where they're headed. ]

[sciencetank]

[He's completely oblivious. Even if he weren't on the coffee-version of speed, he wouldn't know what that meant.]

[He allows her to take his hand, trotting after her... and... talking. About everything he sees.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ Again, she can deal with that. If his rambling weren't drawing attention. A few people have either vacated the courtyard, or openly stared for a bit. ] Perceptor, can you tone it down? People are staring.

[sciencetank]

Tone what down?

[No, really, what are you talking about, Angel? He's not doing anything weird. Right?]

[makeshiftwings]

Your... talking. Not that I mind, really. You know, usually. But you're doing an awful lot of it and you're being kind of loud.

[sciencetank]

I am? I hadn't noticed...

If I don't speak, how else am I to keep my notes in order?

[makeshiftwings]

Maybe you shouldn't be taking notes while you're on a caffeine high.

[sciencetank]

Why not? My processor feels several times more efficient than it did previously.

[makeshiftwings]

The thing about a caffeine buzz is that it's only temporary. When you come down, you're going to come down pretty hard.
