Ah. Creators. Yes, I suppose that would affect a few things.

A human's creators- parents- are usually the ones responsible for naming it.

[He reaches over to tap at the coffee pot.]

In that case, these parents have terrible senses of what constitutes a decent designation.

There's no way to know what a person is going to be like when they're born. I'm sure they do their best.

There must be some standard attributes to base decisions on.

Gender, mostly, but that's about it.

Ah, yes. That... Oddity in and of itself.

What, gender?

Yes.

We've no such thing.

Really? There aren't any... female robots?

Well. There is Arcee. But it's rather more of an aesthetic choice than it is anything as in-depth as your gender roles and sexual organs.

Oh. Oh, I guess that makes sense. [ awkward laugh ]

It looks like the coffee's ready.

[You're smarter than he thought, Angel.]

[But then his attention is perked, peering down at the pot in open curiosity.]

You simply drink?

[makeshiftwings]

[ Hyperion is rife with robots. All she ever saw were robots, her dad, and a handful of scientists and engineers. ]

Not straight from the pot, you don't. And not right away. It's still hot.

[sciencetank]

[He steps back, looking at her, then motions her forward.]

Very well. Lead on.

[makeshiftwings]

[ She finds a mug in a cabinet somewhere and pours him a cup of coffee, blowing on it lightly to cool it down. Once she's confident he won't burn his tongue, she offers it to him. ]

There are things you can add to it to alter the flavor, but I thought you might want to start with it plain.

[sciencetank]

[He watches her -- closely. Maybe a little too closely, but, then again, look who it is. He's probably studying her.]

[But he accepts the mug quietly enough, before slowly tasting the contents. And blinking.]

... Bitter. More so than expected. A slightly... charred taste to it. As if the materials were scorched...

[Why yes, he is talking notes out loud to himself.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ She just nudges the sugar and cream towards him. ] Here you are.

[sciencetank]

[Her efforts are rewarded with a blank stare.]

And... those are?

[makeshiftwings]

Sugar and cream. They can change the flavor of the coffee. Most people probably do a spoonful of each, if you wanted to try it out.

[sciencetank]

[His expression brightens.]

It certainly sounds like an experiment that must be attempted.

[And he does just as she says, but not without trying the coffee first with only sugar, then adding the cream.]

... sweeter. Softer. As if it's been filtered, now. Most interesting...

[makeshiftwings]

Just don't drink too much. It'll make you jittery.

[ That advice given, she plops back down on the bed to watch him, oddly fascinated. He's so... adorable. ]

Jittery? As in, overly energized?

[Coffee makes you drunk?]
