[ It's kind of cute to watch him. It almost distracts her from finding coffee filters. ]

Okay. Now just pour the water into the back of the machine here- [ points ] -and put the pot back where you found it.

[He's so strangely fascinated by everything in the room. The temperature and texture of the water. The feel of it on his exterior -- skin. He almost doesn't hear her, so intrigued is he.]

Ah. Yes. Right. Performing the operation now.

[ She places the coffee filter and the coffee in the machine, a smile on her face ]

How do you like being human?

I would say that it's an interesting experience, to be sure. But having spent the past few thousand years in my own frame, adjusting to another in a matter of days is a fairly difficult concept to grasp.

Everything is so terribly sensitive. How ever do you cope?

[makeshiftwings]

Hm. [ She turns the machine on and goes back to take a seat on the edge of the bed. ] I guess we're just used to it.

[sciencetank]

[He stays put by the machine, leaning on the little counter, watching the machine do its work.]

Yes, I suppose that would be true, wouldn't it?

Your sensory input is radically skewed. Tactile sensation is nearly overpowering, while visual data is impaired. As well as audio. It's tantamount to being blind and deaf.

[Perceptor, your human body needs glasses, that's probably why you don't think you can see.]

[makeshiftwings]

[ She shrugs ] We get by, regardless.

And that is why they invented things like glasses, to help when our eyesight fails.

[sciencetank]

Mm, as you said, you became accustomed to it.

[He makes a dissatisfied sound.] It would be far more efficient to simply weld them onto your face. Or implant them into your optics altogether.

[makeshiftwings]

They'd get uncomfortable. And not everyone can afford that kind of thing. There's a hunter back on Pandora who has had a leg, an arm, and an eye replaced with cybernetic parts, but he still wears glasses for his other eye.

[sciencetank]

Why wouldn't he replace both optics? If he can afford to replace limbs, why not the other dysfunctional sensor?

[makeshiftwings]

I don't know. Maybe if we ever got to Pandora, you can ask him.

[sciencetank]

If that does occur, I fully intend to do so. Amongst other things.

A detailed study of a primarily organic-based planet. With all that entails.

I really am beginning to think that you and Sir Hammerlock would get along. He's writing an almanac about the creatures on Pandora.

[sciencetank]

Sir... come again?

[makeshiftwings]

Sir Hammerlock. He's the hunter I was telling you about.

[sciencetank]

... How strange. And is he human, as you are?

[makeshiftwings]

Maybe more human than I am, if you don't count the robotic limbs.

What an odd designation for a non-Cybertronian being to have...

Are any of his limbs hammer-like, by chance?

[makeshiftwings]

Not that I can recall. I haven't actually met him myself.

[sciencetank]

Then why on Cybertron would he have such a designation...?

[makeshiftwings]

I don't see what's so strange about it. A lot of people on Pandora have odd names. There's Brick, and Scooter, Boom and Bewm, and of course Zer0.

Do the lot of you simply... choose designations at random? With no thought to implication?

[makeshiftwings]

I can't speak for the bandits- they have their own rules- but I was named by my... by my parents.
