Ninja shenanigans

[ there are very few fights where Kasuga has found herself backed - no, slammed into a corner, and she's loath to admit it, but without Sasuke, she can't confidently say she would still be alive.

But she is, and he is, and although their opponent still lives, he's doing so at a safe distance-- far enough for Kasuga to dazedly drag herself up against a nearby tree and fumble for her medical kit. Sasuke-- she'd lost sight of him, and she leans back against the trunk with a ragged breath before she turns her head to see if she can spot him now. ]

Which means stand up.

[ninjamom]

I'm going, I'm going. [ It takes him a moment to stand. Ugh, already, everything hurts. ]

It's probably going to be slow going.

[pinupninja]

[ she rises with him, one arm wrapping around his waist to steady both him and herself; Kasuga isn't exactly able to stand tall here. ]

Slow progress is better than none.

[ninjamom]

[ He returns the favor, wrapping his arm around her waist. His shoulder is still sore, but nothing like it had been. He could probably carry her if he really had to- since his legs took the least amount of damage- but for the moment, he'll let her have her pride. ]

When we get out of here, you know what would be nice? A hot bath.

[pinupninja]

[ almost surprisingly, she chuckles, even as she yields a little into the natural curve of his arm. ] You'll have to fight me for first rights.

[ninjamom]

I think I could take you. [ He's smiling now, as they limp into the trees. ]

[pinupninja]

You won't be smiling when I win. [ back to the compound we go? ]

[ninjamom]

We'll have to see about that. [ Indeed! Slowly but surely. ]

[pinupninja]

[ she simply snorts; the rest of the way will be making sure they both stay upright and conscious. ]

[ninjamom]

[ Good plan. They do arrive without incident, but oh how Yukimura frets when Sasuke goes to report back. ]

[pinupninja]

[ this would be the ideal time to go steal the bath - and she does hear talk of hot water being drawn - but Kasuga opts against it. Instead, she waits in that little garden, calming her nerves from just the memory of that fight. ]

[ninjamom]

[ Sasuke does finally reemerge, shaking his head a little. When he notices her, he looks honestly surprised. ] I thought you would have snuck off for a bath by now.

[pinupninja]

If he'd required a second account, I didn't want to be in the bath.

[ and maybe she was still concerned. ]

[ninjamom]

[ He shrugs ] What I've told him is enough.

Though- uh, we have both been ordered to take the day off tomorrow.

[pinupninja]

Wha-- ordered?

[ninjamom]

Pretty much.

[pinupninja]

But it's not as though we can't still move!

[ninjamom]

But it's not as though we can fight. [ He heaves a sigh ] I'm too tired to argue, and let's face it, we're not much good to anyone like this.

[pinupninja]

... Fine. [ folding her arms over her chest. ] We might as well make the most of it.

[ninjamom]

Might as well.

Go take your bath. I can wait.

[pinupninja]

--? That was surprisingly easy.

[ninjamom]

I'm too tired to argue, remember?

[pinupninja]

At least try to stay awake until I've finished.

[ and off she limps; she's too worn out to argue herself. ]

[ninjamom]

I make no promises.

[ He'll wait until she's gone to slump down to a sit. He needs to unwind after all of that. ]

[ it's a rather extensive bathing process, getting all of the dirt and grit out before she can properly focus on getting clean, but Kasuga's as quick about it as she can manage. Her hair is still damp as she pads back down the hall, keeping an eye out for one tired ninja. ]
