Transformers AU? Yes, I believe it is.
Basics:
The Autobots lost, Megatron won. But humans are a tough lot, and continue to fight.
I'm thinking some 16 years after Revenge of the Fallen- which puts Anna at about 18. Even at this age, she's trained hard and is somewhat battle-hardened. The dark hair is because her world is dark and edgy and-- well, okay frankly, it's just because. The actress I chose for her PB also looks a bit older with the brown hair, and it's a nice contrast to little blonde Anna who's biggest worry is Ironhide scaring off her prom date.
Taking a leaf out of All Hail Megatron's book here and assuming that the 'Cons have set up shop somewhere in the USA. Humans and 'bots are mostly confined to makeshift shelters and underground bases. The Resistance is not overly huge, because let's face it, barely surviving is hard enough.
The Players:
In order for the 'Cons to achieve victory, two things will certainly have to had happened: Optimus must be either dead or dying, and Sam would be taken by the enemy.
I like the idea of the 'Cons finding some method of removing Sam's brain and putting it in some kind of robot body- perhaps with a behavioral modification chip to keep him in line, or even putting it in some kind of non-mobile unit. The Resistance, at some point, will have stolen his brain back, somehow, and either removed the behavioral modifier or built him a functional body.
Obviously Sam is traumatized by this. Who wouldn't be?
Okay, I also had a thought regarding Sam's fate while I was half awake this morning. Something goes horribly, horribly wrong in the mission to rescue Sam from the 'Cons and in a last-ditch effort to save his friend, Bumblebee like- I don't know- downloads Sam's consciousness into his own body, thereby erasing his own consciousness. (I READ TOO MUCH DARK SCI-FI DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT.) So, yes. Basically Sam in Bee's body- possibly there's something of 'Bee left. Like a little voice in Sam's head who guides him and stuff idk.
I've already decided I'm going to kill off Ratchet- probably some two or three years prior to the start of the AU. Jolt, who had been training under the medic for some time, will have taken up his position.
The rest of the Autobots, though battle-scarred and tired, are all alive, unless I come up with something better. (Though I may pull a JK Rowling and kill off one of the twins.)
I'm really, really not sure what I want to do with Will. My initial thought would be that he lost his life in the mission to get Sam's brain back. I'm still... really not sure about this.
Obviously, Sarah will be there, if not actively on the field, I could see her somehow getting saddled with the position of medic for the humans. Mik would be a badass soldier along with Anna, of that I have no doubt.
Don't know what to do with the rest of the human characters: Sam's parents, Leo, Simmons, and so on. (Galloway gets stepped on by Megatron early in the game, probably.)
THERE WE GO. That's all I got so far.
WORLD'S VAGUEST TIMELINE:

- A few months later, Optimus is defeated, Megatron starts gaining ground
- A year and a half of fighting
- Sam gets captured
- Sam's parents are killed during his capture
- Sam is then taken to 'Con HQ brain for removal/getting hooked up to a machine, where he is not unlike Megatron in that he is aware of the goings-on around him
- Another year and a half passes, during which plans for Sam's rescue are formulated
- Rescue plan is put into effect
- Will in horribly injured in the ensuing battle, and ends up paralyzed from the wist down
- Something goes horribly wrong, and Bumblebee download's Sam's consciousness into his own body, sacrificing his life but saving Sam's
- The wounded return to the Resistance's base of operations. Ratchet and Jolt begin working on a way to heal Will, but are loath to test their technology on him, so he's confined to a wheelchair for the time being
- Sam goes into seclusion for a long, long time
- A few months later, Sam reemerges and joins the fight once again
- Fast forward 9 years, Ratchet is killed (somehow!) Jolt takes up the position of medic
- Fast forward four years to the start of the AU
