Idolish Persona.

[ Maya has no idea what's actually going on. Which is fine, really, because that's nothing new for her. It just means she's currently lacking in understanding, but the only way to remedy that is to observe and investigate.

She's still in Japan, that much is obvious. If she hadn't seen the signs and store fronts while wandering, the music nearby and the recognizable language would have clued her in. Japan, near what sounds like a male idol concert. Okay. She'd woken up face-down on the pavement but nothing was broken, she knew who she was, and if that was all she had to go on, that was fine. But after a minute, the familiar dulcet shriek of a demon has her realizing that it's maybe not as fine as she would have wanted.

There's a Rangda making a beeline for the stage, and while no one seems to have realized it's not just a very enthusiastic fan, Maya isn't wasting chances. She can still feel Artemis, cool and comforting, inside of her and that's enough to solidify her determination.

But there are still too many people, so after a second, Maya winces apologetically and holds one pink pistol over her head. ]

Sorry, idols. Sorry, fans. I'll make this quick!

[ And she fires once. It's enough to make the fans closest to her scream and scramble to get to safety, and for the Rangda to turn around with a hiss. ]

[ Gut instinct? It has to be a prank— it has to. The fact that some TV producer or other decided to pull a fast one during one of his live concerts is somewhat of an annoying blindside, but Momo is a professional; his initial reaction is exaggerated and playacted, reassuring enough to the audience that they identify it as theatrical.

But then? Things escalate. A calm voice in the crowd calls out an apology, and follows it up with a gunshot that makes Momo's blood run cold.

Fight or flight kicks in, and the first thing he does is tell Yuki to run. After that, he hops down into the crowd and ushers some of the stragglers towards safety. He figures that they'll listen to him without stampeding, and they do; the arena thins in record time, leaving Momo to deal with Maya and the Rangda in the only way he knows how.

He reaches backwards for the watter bottles lining the edge of the stage (for easy access during performances), and throws it directly at the monster's head.

What a moron.

[ Okay, so this really isn't a prank. It's one thing to playact at fighting and to practice fight choreography, and another thing entirely to face off against a monster that really does want to kill you for no good reason; he knows he's in over his head the moment that the demon lunges at him, but he's never been great at staying still in dire situations.

He squares up, fists raised and feet braced. (Note to self: get less frilly stage outfits.) Gets ready to defend himself...

...when a pretty stranger cuts across him, and sends his enemy flying to the side with a gust of cold wind.

In his half-panicked state, he thinks about how this is a really good setup for a fantasy drama. She's already his hero.

—I know I should, but then I'll never find you again!

[ He knows how these scenarios work out. She's a mysterious heroine who's going to just disappear after she saves his life, and he can't have that!!! ]
