[of course chasing after rogue spirits and negative energy is... well, it's part of an onmyouji's job. it's necessary in order to maintain the balance and keep humans safe.

which is, as a human, hijiri's priority here.

and sometimes that means fucking up a few of the humans' things in order to get to the spirits. a few broken windows, bursting into storefronts—superficial damage that while frustrating for people, also prevents them from being consumed by negativity or getting hurt or killed otherwise.
