State of the RP;

state of the rp: general

I never thought I'd be able to work a full-time job and keep up with RP, and admittedly, sometimes I come home and I'm tired-- but it's also nice to have something to look forward to while I'm at work, and while I can't be as fast as I used to be, I'm pretty content with the way things are. I don't think I'm holding anyone back (I hope!) and I'm having fun with everything.
HAVEN
state of the game

So I never would have considered joining a horror game, and yet here I am, in a horror game, and it's my home game, and I'm still laughing that it turned out this way. I think I will always have a hard time being terrible to my characters, and horror still isn't my forte, but it's amazing, the kind of development I've been able to get for them here. Blue is an amazing mod, the players are great, and even if I'm at work half the time when event posts go up, I can usually still get involved, even when I'm late. I haven't had trouble with AC yet, which is always promising!
character: Noire [[personal profile] bloodandblunder]
age: 17....???
series: Fire Emblem: Awakening
time played: 8 months, holy crap

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Noire is, surprisingly, not hard. If anything, I only really worry that I don't bring her BLOOD AND THUNDER side out enough, but I don't want to bring it out too much, either, so a lot of the time, I'm sitting there wondering how stressed she is at any given point in a thread, coupled with who she's threading with. Like Yarne, there are just some people she won't do that with unless she's super stressed. Anyway, I feel like I can grasp her character well enough, and her supports and DLC talks have helped me feel more confident in playing someone who isn't confident at all. It also helps that she comes from a world not unlike Haven's, and she survived in it, so she can cope with more than you'd expect.

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Our cast was once so big, and now it is not, but I'm fond of it and Noire winds up having very unique relationships with all of her castmates that we don't always get a chance to see in the game. It's been a lot of fun and everyone in this cast is amazing.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Noire may not WANT to get involved in everything, but the thing is, she has friends she cares about who can't leave dangerous things alone, and where they go, she will follow, so yeah, it's not all that hard to throw her into things.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Please, she's from the SHIPPING GAME. I'd like for things to eventually happen on this front, because damn if she isn't cute with certain people, but I'm also okay with slow developments and me just clutching my face every so often.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

Nope nope nope nope nope.

development/final thoughts:

Like I said before, having Noire come from the timeline that she does has made it easy to play her in Haven's setting, but of course she's had some rough spots. Having to kill Eugeo, getting killed BY Eugeo, being brainwashed, killing her "mother", accidentally setting March on fire before getting poisoned and dying... but because she's also someone who can admit when she's hurting and upset, it's made it easier for her to keep emerging from each trauma with determination. Slowly but surely, she's coming to realize that people do value her and that there might be something about her that warrants having confidence. She's still very shy, but having the CR she does has helped tremendously, and she's gotten braver. One day, she may be able to admit that she's worth something.
character: Sharon Rainsworth [[personal profile] unicornered]
age: 23, but looks 13
series: Pandora Hearts
time played: About 8 months as well lolol

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Sharon is someone I didn't expect to be as comfortable with as I am, but I'm glad I decided to try her. She's a refreshing blend of formality and intelligence and TAKES NO SHIT with her romantic nature cropping up, and I have a lot of fun doing her tags because of the variety I get to do.

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Our cast is impressive and great and god bless everyone for being willing to just cluster together at times and throw everyone in, making for chaos and cute and hilarity and mostly awful. I love the occasional PH + Those Poor Souls Who Associate With Them log and I'm also pleased that Sharon gets the opportunity to spend time with people that you don't see in canon as much. Elliot, Leo, etc. She's grown from that.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Because of one NPC Sharon befriended during an event, her plotting capabilities have doubled, due to her ability to write in Haven West and with what she learned from speaking with Judy. I do want to make use of her writing and being able to poke a finger into the barrier, but it's a matter of her trusting certain other people, because that's not something she wants to broadcast. Her Chain helps with the plotting ideas as well, and there's the fact that Sharon is always trying to stay informed and going through the books whenever she can-- so yeah. She's been doing fine on this front.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ □ □

While I do have people I ship with Sharon, it's difficult to think anything will come from it, because Sharon is ultimately rational. She knows her true age, just as she knows she won't age until her Contract ends with Equus, and that's not likely to happen anytime soon. That's just asking for trouble for whoever wants to date her. She also has her duty as the future Rainsworth duchess, and while she could just pull an Oscar and marry a commoner and her grandma would probably be okay with that, getting involved with someone from a different world if we go that route is definitely tricky and not something she'd want to risk.

Bring on the memes and museboxes, huzzaaaah.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

/CARTWHEELING SPIDER

development/final thoughts:

I couldn't be happier with where Sharon is right now. She's been put into several painful situations, and hasn't broken down all that much, but the Loyalty event hurt her badly and it still hurts her to think about, that she'd taken a life.. Thanks to Break and Gilbert, though, she was able to admit that it hurt, and I do believe she's grown stronger from it. She's come to accept Leo as a friend, she and Elliot have grown closer, and she's been able to trust in more people than anticipated. I'm still so happy that her befriending Karen the NPC paid off like that, when I didn't expect anything other than cute and sad, but Sharon's got a lot of responsibility in Haven and she's still growing. I AM PLEASED.
character: Judith [[personal profile] brbwalking]
age: 19
series: Tales of Vesperia
time played: 3... months, I think?

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Judith always makes me nervous, because she's polite (like Sharon), but not as formal as Sharon, so it's tough trying to keep her voice distinct when she's a composed sort of tease, but then she can be blunt, but she's also mysterious and there are legit reasons behind it, but she acts like she's just capricious and she sort of is but--

I'm not the most confident person with her, sadly!

cast strength: ■ ■ □ □ □

We're a little lacking these days, but I do happen to like my castmates, so we'll seduce some more eventually, I'm sure!

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Judy's tricky. I mean, yes, she tends to just go boldly into new situations, but on the other hand, she won't always get involved because there's no real personal stake in it. If someone wants to be left alone (sans Laharl), she's not usually one to pursue that; she'll just go "Okay then" and leave them be. She doesn't linger, which can be hard on threads that I don't want to cut short.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Also tricky. Not impossible, but the odds of Judith letting someone get that close to her and then falling for them are not the highest. She's more of a tease, but she has her priorities, and while she's fine with being affectionate, there usually isn't anything more serious about it. Could it happen? Maybe, but it would take a lot of time and development and Judith having to lower her guard.

likelihood of drop: ■ ■ □ □ □

It's mostly that way because if I DID get overwhelmed with life, Judith isn't as deeply invested as my other two, so would be the first to go.

development/final thoughts:

I think there's potential, it's just sort of a matter of getting Judith to stop being vague and to open up with people outside of her cast. To that, I've been trying to get her some lasting CR, which should help once she... stops teasing them. Maybe. Right now, she's still cheery and mysterious, and that's likely to last with everyone else for the time being. She doesn't traumatize easily these days, but it's been kind of nice to have a character emerge from events and go "Okay, what now?"
HOMELESS
state of the game

Just some potentials! Two are going elsewhere, but the third is just me going MAAAAYBE

ONE DAAAAAAAY

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

character: Kiki [[personal profile] succinct]
age: 20, or so I consider her to be
series: Akagami no Shirayukihime
time played: Couple of months in a musebox

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

Kiki is so deadpan and so blunt and while I think it might be hard to get her some CR at first, she's been a joy to play because she just doesn't care about feelings. Except when she does, and then the subtlety is fun too, but yeah, she's really good for linefacey banter. I feel like Kiki is my sarcastic side given words, so it's therapeutic to do that much!

cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

Cal will be my Mitsuhide, and you know what, THAT IS ALL I NEED.

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ □ □

Kiki is another character who needs to be invested in order to get involved. As a responsible adult, she's not as reckless, which means if something goes down, she might not make a move unless Mitsuhide does or she feels she needs to. Compared to my other hopeful, though, that might be a good thing.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

She pretty much stated in canon that she'd propose to Mitsuhide at some point what do you want from me--!!

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

I haven't even played her yet??

development/final thoughts:

I needed a calm, level-headed snarker who can stab people, so I'm content.
character: Kay Faraday [[personal profile] farakay]
age: 17
series: Ace Attorney: Investigations
time played: On and off over the years, really

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Usually all it takes is a playthrough, and I'm good to go. Kay not only has a distinct voice, but she's wacky and lively, and I don't end up staring at her tags and NOT knowing how to respond, because so long as it makes sense to Kay, it doesn't matter how weird her tags might turn out. Her energy level is off the wall, though, which is the only problem: it's hard to focus when I'm tired.

cast strength: □ □ □ □ □

Cast what cast

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

Kay is nosy and inquisitive and reckless and all too easily involved. It won't take much for her to throw herself into plots, and that is why I happen to like playing her. She's also got her own Yatagarasu thing going on, which should add an extra layer.

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ □

Possible, and if it came about, Kay would probably be chill with it, but her true love is JUSTICE and so she doesn't think about romance all that much, except to tease Edgeworth about his popularity with the ladies.

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

Kinda needs to be apped first.

development/final thoughts:

Kay has always had room for development because of the things she has to come to terms with, and because she's still very much a teenager. Playing that out has always been an exciting prospect for me.
character: Jude Mathis [[personal profile] palmheal]
age: 15
series: Tales of Xillia
time played: ... in a musebox recently

muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □

I'm always nervous with new muses, and the same applies with Jude, but when I was quoting him before he even spoke in the game, that's... certainly promising.

cast strength: □ □ □ □ □

Where would I even play him

plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

HE'S A PROTAG

shipping potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■

HE'S A PROTAG also Milla

likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □

There isn't even a likelihood of app.

development/final thoughts:

I consider playing him in a game every so often, and then I think of all the people who would die of heart attacks because KIA PLAYING A BOY. Maybe just more museboxing for now, I'm in no hurry.
