Model Idol Combi: so you had a sick day

[ so the thing was, Makoto didn't get sick. It took a series of unfortunate events, a moment of stress-induced weakness, and doing the idiotically chivalrous thing of trying to make her way home in the pouring rain and likely spending too much time in soaked clothing, despite Kise's best efforts.

But the point was, Makoto didn't usually get sick, and when she did get sick, it had to be sick enough to buckle her knees and keep her under her covers with a fever that could warm cold palms in an instant. She'd tried to go to work, but hadn't made it further than her own doorway before she'd gotten too dizzy to stand without the aid of the frame and had been promptly ushered back to bed.

And of course, she hadn't wanted to worry Kise, but that had backfired and for some inexplicable reason, she felt worse than ever. She'd have to change the compress again, she thinks distantly, as she tries to push herself up on her elbows to give him a properly chastising look. At the very least, her parents were now out for one of her dad's races, but... ]

You... really didn't have to come.

[ what if she's contagious? It's bad enough that she feels awful and she's sweaty and her hair's a mess and her face is all red and this isn't very romantic at all-- ]

Which means he should probably tone down the enthusiasm, which means leaning in to kiss his forehead should.... help...? ]

I'm really happy that you're really happy, but you can focus on feeling better now.

[No don't pull that face on him; it's not that he doesn't want to! Not entirely. But she's been shaking or trembling for a good while whenever he holds her.

[Welp, and he's not even hallucinating anymore.]

[ a pause. She'd obediently stilled herself (not that it was very hard), but she's still frozen when he pulls back, eyes large and face even redder.

But there's her smile. ]

Ehehehe. [ a smaller cough this time. ] You're really kind... Ryouta-kun. Thanks.

Huh? [ where did that come from-- and is now really the time to be talking about things like that? Even if-- ]

So that, being told that he's really kind... It means something.

I'm really grateful. [ she continues on like she hasn't heard him, and that much may be true; her eyelids are fighting to stay up. ] Really grateful... okay? 'Cause you're here, like this...

[ her entire expression softens, and if kissing him wouldn't be a bad idea, she definitely would. The forehead's all she can do right now, but she keeps one hand on his cheek, like she can draw the heat away through contact alone. ]

I said it before, didn't I? I want to be there for the bad things, too-- being sick or having off days isn't going to make me care about you any less. If anything, it just makes me want to be stronger for you!

[Sob, now he has to lie here feeling fuzzy and weak but touched because Makocchi's so good to him he's so happy he could die.]

[At least he's quiet about it; he's not about to wake her up when she's that exhausted. Sighing, he thinks that she probably won't remember saying that to him anyway.

And conceding to the fact that she'll be out for at least another hour or two, he lowers himself onto the bed to be level with her face, stretching himself out to do so. He's already taken pictures of her sleeping so he might as well make himself comfortable while he stares at her like a creeper admires her features some more yes. It's not like he has homework to do or anything hahaha.]

[Unfortunately these things won't come out nearly as easily when he's feeling better. Ah well, something to dream about.

Still, it's a good thing he's too sick to realize how much more whiny and embarrassing he's being. If he did, he'd either lay it on even thicker or never stop talking. Oh wait, isn't that the same thing?]

[ he should do his nonexistent homework or stretch or do something more productive than stare at the face of a sleeping sickie.

Or so Makoto would tell him, if she was awake and feeling rational, but then he might go read some shoujo again and wake her up by laughing.

At least she's sleeping soundly. ]

[ she bites her lip, worrying it between her teeth as she reaches out to steady him through the fit. He's likely still not feeling up to medicine, but coughing himself mute doesn't sound like the nicest way for this flu to progress. ]

Maybe it's better if you don't talk for awhile.

[Oh good, then she won't wake up when he eventually goes through her shoujo collection again.

And then glances over the things on her desk. And then sends her the pictures he took from before, complete with obnoxious caption.

Maybe he could try to wash the stain out of his shirt. But he doesn't know how to do that. That also involves getting up and away from her.

So if she wakes up, she'll come face to face with Kise's sleeping face. There was seriously nothing to do in her room and he was just a touch too worried to stray from her bed.]
