[ she had more-than-half expected this. Takane had never not been aware of being followed, and after the initial brush with the paparazzi sent by Kuroi, she'd been even more on guard. Particularly so when the encounters with Masamune became more frequent, more intentional. She couldn't say she minded; there was familiarity at the same time as a sense of new intrigue. He was both the same and not, but the differences only made him... endearing?

It wasn't wise, however. The idols couldn't show a bias towards a single person in public, without the reporters or stalkers catching wind of it. But she'd never run from an encounter, and it's during a walk with the ever-straightforward Masamune that her eyes sharpen and she glances in the direction of a nearby park. Namely, where a few trees and bushes could easily conceal someone.

How deplorable. ]

[ her gaze is steady, her eyes a little dark, lips a firm line that could be calm, but it's displeasure on her end. ]

I would find it difficult to accept admiration from one who cannot bravely announce their presence.

Same as always. [ but he glances at that foliage again, back to takane's expression... yeah, this isn't exactly super good.

his look is just kind of nonchalant as his eye once again goes to those supposed men with the cameras, hand on his hips. ]

I could teach 'em a thing or two. How's that?

Courteous, but I will speak to them myself. It would be best for you to assume no personal relationship with me for the nonce.

[ oh look at her, already high-stepping over there. She'd rather not get him involved. ]

[dragonizing]

[ ... well, his manly pride will not allow himself to just kind of let her handle this kind of situation herself, so he's just pausing a bit in a... wow, look what she's doing gesture, before he. well, maybe he'll kind of respect her wishes. maybe.

no, he's going to just come up anyway.

see, this is why she's cool. he can pretend he doesn't know her, but he wants to know what she's going to do. ]

[ she notices - of course she notices, he's hard to miss - but she gives him no verbal response, instead focusing on that clump of foliage that caught her attention earlier. Her voice emerges, smooth and cultured, but there's steel layering that softness. ]

To track a person like an animal is the height of cowardice. I won't forgive anyone who seeks to spread falsehoods.

[ and as odd as she may look speaking to a bush, it's not so strange when it rustles and out rises your typical paparazzi: camera, hat over his eyes, speaking a mile a minute about scoops and headlines about Shijou Takane spending time alone with Oshu's heir, the recognizable Date Masamune. Imagine how the fans would feel.

For her part, Takane continues to stand there quietly, but from the slight narrowing of her eyes, this won't end well. ]

[ well, isn't that a tad bit annoying. his distaste at being bombarded with more words than he's heard in a year is fortunately overwritten by the fact that takane's expression is a rather rare one. he only lowers the hand he'd raised to cover one of his ears when he gives a look to warn the paparazzi who still seemed to be speaking.

cut off? yeah. but not as much as takane was about to, he thinks. words just weren't necessary in this case. ]

[ she's not so rude to interrupt a person while they're speaking, preferring to wait until there's a proper opening.

Which takes a few minutes, when the accusations start getting wilder, starting with dating and going to wild and torrid affairs with a baby on the way. Takane's expression remains unchanging.

Up to the point where the man lifts his camera up, and suddenly, her hand is on his wrist, firm and unyielding. Calmly-- ]

Should you not acquire Date Masamune's permission before wielding that?

[dragonizing]

[ … hm. masamune's only listening to the tirades of the paparazzi. he's torn between impressed, amused and annoyed--it had to take some imagination to think up all of that from a simple walk.

takane's grip on the cameraman gets a raised eyebrow and a bit of confusion from her target, and he can only guess what she's going to do. ]

Pretty sure he knows I wouldn't give it. [ there's a tilt of his head, a cross of his arms. ] And you wouldn't give yours.

[ a faint smile is her only answer; he's right, and he knows he's right, just as the cameraman knows he's right, so there's no need to say anything further. Takane's only approval of anything in this situation is directed at the other unfortunate soul who got involved in this.

Her grip tightens when her captive stubbornly lifts the camera, and... well. There's no momentum she can use for throwing, but when he turns to her, irate and arm lifted, Takane twists. More accurately, she twists the wrist she's holding, dropping him to his knees. ]

Should you persist in this endeavor, I will not hold back. Seek your stories elsewhere.

[dragonizing]

[ he's looking at some kind of general from the past, or something. he only glances casually when takane does this, giving the cameraman a look as he's driven to the ground, as the camera falls to the ground, and he picks that up, fiddling with it and snapping a picture of some shrubbery on the side--

something silly. ]

I'd give it up if I were you.

[classifidol]

[ all good tabloids need shrubbery. ]

His advice, though rarely offered, should not be ignored.

[ and it's still quiet, still soft, though far from pleasant, her voice-- as she releases the cameraman and waits.

And sure enough, he scrambles off, making a quick snatch for his camera and fleeing while Takane oversees his departure like a silver-haired hawk.

... And then she sighs. ]

My apologies.

[ she got him good. he didn't even have to lift a finger this time--not that he felt he needed to, not that he would've. guys like that surely aren't worth the effort, and were easy enough to chase off, but still.

maybe he'll like that picture of the bushes. ]

No worries. Got some photography practice out of it. [ and a look into those interesting parts of takane. though, truly, 100% of her was interesting. ] You usually handle pictures that way?

[ he knows that's not true, but it's a question to lighten the mood. ]

[ in typical Takane fashion, she merely presses a finger to her lips. ]

Were you the sort to harbor interest in idols, Date Masamune, there would be no need to ask.

Heh. Who says I'm not interested?

[ in typical masamune fashion he fires back with a smirk. of course he wouldn't expect an answer-answer, not from her. he's got an impression of her--something that said a lot about her character. ]

Oh? Have you taken an interest in performers?

[ ... yeah, that's sure an answer. ]
