Not really no, but do you have a preference for yours? You seem the type that casual names are reserved for close friends. And unless you think of me as a friend, which I'll be admittedly flattered after having a brief introduction together, I doubt that will be the case. Although I do have to wonder about your father's... 'generosity' with his guest roster. Seeing as the man you kindly escorted out of the premises was here to begin with being an example, I would assume that crashers are common for your family parties? [ And so is some random legendary spirit too for that matter, but eh. Details. ]

You'll have to forgive me for the formality of my speech, but I assure you, calling me Laura is fine. [ really, she doesn't care unless the person in question is outright demanding formality from her. ]

As for that, my father and I both feel as though celebrations needn't be available only to nobility, so we welcome anyone. If they behave in a manner that troubles a great deal of people, however, then we kindly ask them to behave as such elsewhere.

it kind of betrays the playful smile and obvious teasing, but that's the sort of duality that comes with akira, even if he rarely shows it.]

Propositioning your teacher for a kiss is probably a pretty bad thing to do.

[and yet! he doesn't seem like he's feeling any remorse about it. she didn't discourage him from doing so, after all.]

[ she's got such a pure heart. Lupin is quick to feel guilty for making her doubt herself - he's quicker to feel a happy little skip in his pulse after her explanation. He's not terribly materialistic - ironic, for a thief, especially one who'd spent most of his childhood dirt poor - but suddenly, he really wants to open all of those. It doesn't even matter what's inside of them; they're full of her feelings, and that's better than any gift he could receive. ]

You're not wrong. I was just - surprised. Nobody's actually showered me in presents before. [ he rubs his nose. it's rare to see him shy, but his body language now suggests that he's actually a little flustered. ] ...You don't need to thank me for anything, you know. But... you're welcome.

[ a pause. he sighs, amused, as he pulls out a big bouquet of white and red roses from behind his back; there seems to be something attached to them. ]

You're really giving me a run for my money, though. Who could have guessed my dear lady would be this romantic? I'm a little troubled.

[ He might have been able to feel her smile, before she leans in to kiss him. Returning the favor, really. Just as chaste, just as gentle. Probably not anything like her personality twenty hours of the day. ]

[it's a good response—it definitely exceeds the expectations set, even though she hadn't discouraged his actions in the least.
