[ Haru hasn't seen the mistletoe either. While she may not be at the same level as Makoto when it comes to raw grades, she's been very attentive all through-out the session, her notes painstakingly tidy and thorough. ]

Well, I suppose only until the next set of testing... And then there's the entrance exams.

[ Rather than bum herself out, Haru puts on a determined face. ]

[ she absolutely succeeded. She's so sweet he can hardly stand it! He feels like he should have gotten her more things, now - he knew he should have pulled a heist on the art museum last month when they were hosting all that royal jewelry, dammit. Oh well. ]

A beautiful girl deserves beautiful flowers. [ he maintains his confidence nonetheless, holding the bouquet out towards her with a smile. ] So you, of course, deserve more than that. Put those boxes down for a moment and check the card.

[ he's referring to the envelope attached to the bouquet where there would normally be a tag. In it is a plain card, addressed to her in Lupin's sweeping handwriting - and inside that card are two more little pieces of paper. They're tickets to the theater - a ballet troupe all the way from Russia is visiting for the holidays to put on a performance of The Nutcracker, and he's obtained a pass in for both of them. (How he got them is probably better left to the imagination.) ]

[ He catches himself staring at her hand for a few seconds too long before he happily accepts it. Even if this is for the purpose of keeping each other from falling, his hold is a gentle one. ]

[ It's in this moment that he realizes there are a lot of actual couples around them who are also holding hands, causing Prompto to blush slightly. Even the Christmas themed songs are veering more towards the romantic side. What the heck!!! ]

[ Oh, shoot. Of all the timing, they had to hit the rink during the couples skate session apparently, and Ann shoots him a slightly sheepish grin when she realizes that it's them in a sea of doe-eyed and smitten couples. WELP. ]

I guess for now, we should just go with it? [ complete with hand squeeze, because it's adorable when he turns red. ]

[ Makoto smiles ruefully, leaning back in a stretch. ]

And besides, she seems more than thrilled with what he's gotten her, head tilted in curiosity at first when she does indeed lower the boxes and open the envelope-- until she lights up. ]

The ballet? Really??

[ She's heard of the ballet, of course, she takes in all sorts of new things as often as she can, but she's also heard they're a big deal and rather expensive. ]

[ WELP, she squeezed his hand, and he's completely powerless! ]

--YUP. Goooing with it, hahaha! Why not?!

[ HE'S STILL RED. He swallows, then starts taking the lead, skating alongside Ann as he matches her pace while their hands remain joined. ]

Sssooo... if you still believed in Santa, and he were to ask you what you'd wish for Christmas, uh... what... what would you say?

[ So very subtle. Ann glances up at him, pace not faltering-- though she crinkles her nose after a few seconds. ]

It's too cheesy. You'll just laugh.

[ He says, kind of already laughing as he's looking back at her. At least the face she's making right now is cute, that alone is worth asking her this embarrassingly dumb question. ]

You're already laughing! [ said with a mildly pouty huff, but it's not like she thinks he's being malicious about it.

Still, she tugs on one pigtail, mulling it over... until she sighs, voice lowering. ]

So I've got this best friend... she's had a really rough year and she ended up moving away-- which is good for her, I know she needed it. So if I had to make a wish, it'd be for her to finally get all the happiness she deserves.

[ No more lecherous teachers, no more leaps that had nearly taken her life, no more suffering because she was Ann's friend. ]

Laura yelps, mid-struggle, and winds up losing her toe grip on any purchase she might have achieved-- which means she's ending up flat on her stomach with a very clingy sword. ]

[ Prompto didn't expect the response to be so sad and sincere, but at least he's not laughing either. He can't imagine anybody laughing at that, to be honest, not anyone who has a heart at least. ]

You think that's cheesy? I call that being a good friend.

[ Plus it's something Prompto can 100% relate to; knowing his own best friend has gone through some hardships. It's why Ann is likeable, although he already knew that. As he looks ahead, his grip on her hand loosens, until it drops down enough for their fingers to interlace. It's a lot more relaxed this way, and... well, they blend in with the others more easily. ]

Do you... think you'll see her again?

[ She didn't really think Prompto would laugh, but it's still a little embarrassing, admitting something so personal instead of something more playful or teasing. Most girls her age would have said "a cute boyfriend" or something, huh...

Still, there's a grateful warmth in her chest, and she easily accepts the shift in their grip, fingers curling around his. ]

There's no way I wouldn't make that happen. She's done so much for me, so... the least I could do is return the favor every now and then.
