it's an odd feeling, especially when he fundamentally knows that he can rely on ann and the other phantom thieves. in a lot of ways, he does; his trust in them is what allowed their plan to succeed—his injuries came from a snag in the plan that none of them could have really anticipated.

but he's still their leader. he's joker, and he definitely bears th weight of that responsibility on his shoulders. it's why he allowed himself to be caught, it's why even with his memories hazy and that sick, drugged feeling that made up so much of that interrogation sitting over him, he didn't even once consider selling them out. he protected them, and he wants to keep protecting them.
