She closes her eyes, tries to let sleep overtake her, but it's elusive.
So when she hears him rise from his cot, she's not surprised — she knows he hasn't slept either, she's listened to him tossing and turning over and his irregular breathing for the last couple of hours. She feigns sleep just to see what he does when he draws closer, and when she feels his finger brush a lock of her hair behind her ear, just the ghost of a touch, her lips curve upward in a sleepy smirk.
