[ he only manages to catch sight of her outside of the base, as he had travelling around taking care of some business. it's not the first time she's visited so he's not surprised, but such things usually warranted some kind of warning or request, directed at someone who wasn't present at the moment.

hijikata doesn't consider leaving her there, exactly, but he does pause a bit before he approaches her, hand in the sleeves of his kimono and face as intimidating as usual in his neutrality. ]

[ Sen's far from intimidated by neutrality-- she prefers it, actually. It's better than wary suspicion, and she can recall all too easily how the men had reacted to her presence in their compound the first time. But they'd been concerned for Chizuru; she knew that much, and she was grateful for it.
